I at this time do not have an answer. MY thought was to put a PVC elbow on there and direct at a 45 degree angle, as water does look for a low spot. But all the US sized PVC either too big/too small to fit in drain hole or over the drain. So, think may need a metric size. But nobody sells em...
NO, that line drains in the engine compartment. It comes out horizontal, on the right side of the motor, almost against the firewall, below the hoses/return lines. With the engine running, and AC on, U can feel "ac" air coming out of the drain I guess to assist with draining. IMHO, a really bad...
YES, that drain is a problem, same on MY 19. A horizontal drain outlet is insane. I am gonna measure and get a PVC elbow to put there to assist. If U check when running, U will feel that apparently the design has "air" blowing out that tube maybe to assist with drain? OH, and Standard PVC not...
You need to read the TSB, check yer Build Date and HVAC design and see if it falls under the TSB. 24-001-20.
AS SAID, TSB not a recall, is Tech Service Bulletin. I had done, but yer truck has to go to Dealership, and there are several checks and things has to be done, before approval. ALSO...
I talked to tech: Wat they R doing is changing HVAC box out, rewiring temp sensors and relocating the sensors. It helped a little, but nothing to do somersaults over, IMHO...
ADDED: I still am happy I had it done. NE improvement is an improvement, especially considering the temps.
You need to read the TSB, check yer Build Date and HVAC design and see if it falls under the TSB. 24-001-20.
In My VERY Humble Opinion, if yer system is working OK and U R happy with it, no way I would have the techs pull out the entire HVAC system and mess with it and run the risk of who...
OK, got my truck back yesterday. HERE IS my take on the work and results: TEMP'S all with Fan on Speed 7, Normal AC, temp set to low, driving 70 mph.
1) The mechanic on the job worked (2) full days, at who knows what is the Rate an Hour.
2) With the techs pulling all that stuff out, and...
He is not mechanic, he is supply (parts) guy.. My SA put the senior mechanic on my truck, he is the senior guy there with over 20 years, so hopefully all be good in end.
SA at dealership took pic. Heck, dealership gave me a ride home yesterday morning and will pick me up when truck done, though I doubt that be till tomorrow. I live over an hour from my Dealer and their loaners are booked out 2 months in advance. I am fortunate, got a pretty dang good SA and...
Here U go, truck at Dealership day #2, with the whole HVAC tore out of truck. Guess gonna be a 3rd day before I get my truck back, LOL.
SEE POST # 1029.
WELL, here is my take on that: I have a "Ball Valve", proper size, and hose and clamps. IF this fix does not work, I will put a "Ball" valve in the Return line from the water pump to the heater core and stop it this way. With the clamp on this line, my temps went from 57 degrees to 42...
I hope so. Well turned in truck this AM. Truck not be ready till tomorrow. My central vent temps in town were 57 degrees, so ne thing in the 40's be great. I can still do the AC hack if I need it colder. I have the hose and the valve just in case and a clamp for temporary.
OK, since U in TX, U understand. Last year, I did the AC hack with the clamp, and was able to get my Drivers vent down to 44 degrees, it was like Xmas in July. SO shall see after done and will post.
Well, I had my truck in a week ago again for AC, also failed O2 sensor (second time). Dealership ordered parts ref the AC TSB (24-001-20) and O2 sensor. Parts in today. I have an appointment on Tuesday for install: Shall report back. Temps in central TX here get to 110 some time, so ne better...
I would make a HUGE complaint and insist on a new battery, even elevate to FCA and RAM CARES and maybe see another dealer. When U toast a battery that bad, with all the electronic drain on them, I personally would not chance it. ME PERSONALLY, if I could not get any satisfaction regardless I...
2019 5th Gen Bighorn, purchased 1 Aug 2018, 15,268 on odometer. Except for poor performing AC, happy with the ride, and since I got the "pink" slip, even happier.
