Yeah the Pulsar just piggybacks of the PCM with base tunes. If you want to go custom then you have to either send your PCM to be unlocked or buy an unlocked PCM to swap out.

I've had a couple dealers locally say they're not allowed to just flash updates anymore unless approved so they wouldn't for me. I spoke to the dealer I purchased from and they told me just mention the keywords in the TSB and they can get approval.

No, you send yours in and wait for it to be unlocked. If you buy an unlocked PCM then you can just swap out the PCM when you go in for service without having to restore the stock tuning.

DiabloSport Trinity 2 or InTune 3 and an unlocked PCM. Always assume it'll likely void your warranty. That is only if they catch evidence of the tune.

Yeah, Trail Boss and AT4 packages everywhere here. I think I see as many TRXs here as I do Rebels. Just about everyone eyes my truck, I hardly notice the Trail Bosses anymore they're so abundant. I do like the AT4s though.

I had a 2012 and the only part about the truck that may be considered a weak point is the 65RFE transmission. The overdrive clutches burn out with heavy abuse. If you're going to keep it stock there's nothing much to worry about there. Maintain the vehicle and it'll keep performing well. I had...
Take care of it and it will do great. My '12 Ram had almost no issues. I didn't baby it either, but I took care of it, did the maintenance that was recommended and it took care of me for the 7 years I owned it.

I think the only option as far as I know it's the Pulsar by Diablosport. Admittedly I haven't looked on a while since I got my tune.

A tune will wake the truck up significantly. I have a Jay Greene tune, but I've had a HF tune on my last truck. They both produce similar results. The TB I'm sure will help a little.

When I removed mine, there wasn't one for the 5th gen yet, I'm still not sure if there is. The 5th gen is a different design than the 4th gen. There is no arm.

I've seen guys do that and have no CEL for a day or two, then it come on. I think that's what happened to me, it didn't come on right away but it did after a little driving.

You should be fine. The ECM checks for a certain range of motion from the middle (and all other shutters). With only the middle installed, and no guide bracket the shutter moves past that range of motion and trips the CEL. With the bracket installed, it limits the shutter to the programmed range...
Sorry I just saw this but yeah that's what I did. I can't remember if I cleared the CEL myself or if it went away. I think I may have cleared it myself with the T2. It may go away though once it does it's first check/cycle.
I am still CEL free. I left the middle and the very bottom one on. I've tried a couple different combinations and those triggered the CEL. This combo seems to keep the system happy.
I never minded the rotary shifter, but I do miss the console shifter my '12 had. So much more fun to shift with even if it was just a gear limiter. I'd take the paddle shifters any day.
