Sounds like a lazy service tech who didn't want to properly troubleshoot, so just blamed the bulbs. I don't see any way the LED bulbs would cause any issues with transfer case. It's not operated by rd signals
Unless you are wanting to use it as a digital reset view mirror while driving, there really is no advantage to the full LED mirror dash cam. Get a decent dash cam with a app for viewing the video and you don't even need a display.
