So I couldn't take it. Targeting an 8dB drop I soldered a 10 ohm jumper together an installed them in line with the 3.5"s. Much better.
Its about a 50% drop in volume and moves the height of the center stage down.
So I've finished the install, took about an hour or so total. How audio sounds and appeals to someone is subjective, but the amount of high frequency treble is almost unbearable. The sound stage is dominated by it, and 3.5"s are most of the problem. In hindsight I would have looked for speaker...
Bought and received kicker 6x9 and 3.5 speakers to upgrade the factory stock ones. I keep telling myself that I'm not going to do much to the truck, but I like loud music.
So my KIA Sorento was stolen, and when I got it back after a long collision shop visit I immediately sold it to CarMax. That said, I purchased a Ram 1500 big horn night edition. A little less than 24 hrs. old to me.
