My bet is that it’s something they did for breast cancer awareness month as a promotional truck, or maybe $xxx goes to breast cancer research. I’m sure when the truck is sold the wrap is pulled off. Unless you’re a weirdo, that is. I hope this is the case and good on them if it is.
Mine is in the shop for the clunk as well. I had to hold off on it since I have a lift, I knew it would be hard to get it diagnosed properly without a TSB .I would bet they would blame the sounds on the lift, although I spoke to the tech who has done all the warranty work on my truck since I got...
This is great to hear! Hopefully, everyone can get this issue resolved easily with the TSB rather than fighting the service departments on a fix. More importantly, I'm sure they have made a change on the factory level to prevent this issue from being perpetuated.
That stinks that you're out without your truck a few more days, but 2-3 days was the wait for a new PCM for my truck as well so it doesn't sound out of line. I really think they just had a bad batch of PCM's that is causing this issue, my truck has been back to normal since I picked it up last...
That's unfortunate. I spoke with my service advisor and he said that he had been contacted by your dealer so they are communicating the fix. I would really press them to go ahead and replace that PCM, my truck seems to be fixed since they did that where as it took just a few days for it to fail...
You have to eat your Wheaties for sure if you’re going to make any adjustments in the steering when it goes out. I was lucky enough to have it go out on a straight highway and I managed to get over into the shoulder, it reset shortly after pulling off though .
Yes they did, it that was done at the same time as the rack and pinion/steering gear.
As an update to others as well, they are now replacing my PCM and the tech is going to drive the truck for awhile to make sure the fix takes.

Here are links to the only other two threads I could find that sound like the same issue in other forums. They are worth a read but don’t offfer much help.
@alacombe , my truck has been in the shop for a week since they first replaced the steering rack and pinion, the codes mine threw was the same as @202snowman , being the 2129-17 which is apparently triggered by a high voltage reaching that module. I believe the codes thrown the second time...
I know it's a pain in the butt, but start running video on each start up and try to catch it on tape. Try it inside the cab, and maybe try to catch another clip of it if you set your phone on your tire or something to catch an outside sound as well.
Sorry not to get your hopes up, I was talking about the sounds @Gearwhine was describing, there is a series of clicks and ticks on startup which is just various systems of the truck turning on. Your sound is something else though, I believe I have heard this loud bang on startup in my truck as...
I really hope so, otherwise this guy better be ready to be laughed at by any consumer protection attorney he solicits help from.
To the OP just take it back to the dealer and use your warranty, that's what it's there for.
