I would not file a claim with insurance. There is a good chance it will end up on Carfax, etc. If the 2 marks are minor, I would just touch them up, and move on. I never like taking my vehicles to body shops. Inevitably, they are never as good as the factory, and I've had vehicles come out...
I have a sneaky suspicion that Ram knows what the issue is, and they don't want to acknowledge it. Lets just say the issue effects 25% of 2019/2020 Rams. Lets assume they know what the problem is, and the fix would require tearing the dash apart, and replacing a defective part. Logistically...
Wow, sorry to hear about your issues. I would be furious. A new truck should not require that much work. If it's not fixed 100%, you should try to get the dealer to buy it back.
That sucks man, you're not the first person to throw in the 5th gen towel. It seems the poor HVAC and multiple other issues, has gotten the better of several board members.
If you are not willing to pull the dash, can you ask them to recalibrate the blend door actuator. I have not heard of any dealer performing this yet. It could be a simple fix.
You've actually got it backwards. For the first 10 minutes, your AC is working normally. It is cold, as it should be. After 10 minutes, your coolant has reached temperature, and your heater core is bleeding heat into the cab. The reason you have to turn the AC down after 10 minutes, is...
If you have a concrete parking garage near you, park it in the garage. If you have any friends or family with extra garage space, ask if you can park it inside. If you have to leave it out, and it gets damaged, contact your insurance.
Question for those that have dealt with the dealer on this issue? Has anyone ever had the dealer calibrate the blend door actuator? It is common, when a blend door actuator is replaced, the dealer will have to calibrate it. Otherwise, the settings will be off. I wonder if it's possible that...
I will be passing on all Ram deals, until they get the HVAC issues fixed. No way I'll buy a 40K to 60K truck, that has crappy AC. I was strongly considering a 2019 2500 or 3500. However, with all the poor AC issues popping up, I'll be holding off.
RamCares, if you're reading this, take...
