I notice no difference in fuel economy between 87, 89, 91. I also notice no impact on engine performance. Because the only difference I notice is cost and the manual say 87 is acceptable, I stick with 87.
I had the same issue as OP with the chain hook opening not being wide enough. I just put the hook up through the bottom opening, out the front opening and hooked the chain to itself.
Nope. If I’m remembering correctly, the eTorque motor provides no mechanical power output above 10mph. I’d have to rewatch the Ram video describing it.
If you change your own oil, you will see why. It is not from installing the filter primed, it is from removing the old filter. It pours right down on top of the steering rack. There are a few ways of avoiding this, but not completely.
I’m quoting my own post for reference.
Here’s the thing though, I believe the average mpg display is a rolling average of around 1500-2000 miles. I say this because I drove 1000 miles from TX to SC and averaged 18.7 mpg. Over the next 1200 miles I’ve had multiple tanks of fuel average 20-24...
The idea is to empty the filter in a more controlled/predictable manner prior to removal. It's something I learned on another vehicle and implemented on other vehicles. Has been a big help for me, especially for the horizontal oil filter stashed behind the frame on my Harley.
It's an idea. I...
I haven't change my oil as I'm still within the Ram Care period of free oil changes. Just asking if someone has done this. Looking at the oil filter placement, it seems like punching a hole in the side of the filter would greatly reduce the amount of oil that gets on the steering rack as it...
25 mpg average in a week of commuting. My commute is 15 miles on a back highway. Flat. 55 mph. One stop sign along the way.
19 mpg on the interstate at 70 mph.
Outside of strictly commuting, I average 19 mpg and typically have to drive 10 miles to do anything (groceries, gym, gas, work, etc.)...
I loved the Defender LTX's on my '17. I had 60k miles on them and still had 5/32 all the way around (never had an alignment on the truck either). When these OE Bridgestones wear out on my '23, I'll be heading to Costco to get them replaced with the Michelins.
Just FYI, Discount Tire will price...
Agreed. I have zero issues with my CVT @ nearly 200,000 miles. I'm on the Civic forum and all the issues arise from people not changing their fluid at correct intervals or putting in non-Honda CVT fluid.
All of this info is on the two stickers in the driver side door jamb. In fact, it's the only accurate information for your vehicle. These online towing specs are generic and don't account for your specific vehicle trim/options/accessories and are wildly inaccurate.
