I think it's an advantage in that climate. I was out the other day in lousy weather, mixed snow, rain, sleet, ice, a bit of everything. I noticed some trucks with fixed running boards that looked downright dangerous to step on. Mine deployed nice and dry.

I plan to tow with my stock tires. I looked at the load index on the tire manufacturer website and each tire is rated over 2500 lbs. You'd have to be way overweight on the axles to hit the tire limits.

I had it on my previous vehicle but not on this because of the tow mirrors. I don't know why they removed the front camera too. I miss having it. Pulling in to my driveway I used to use it to get close to the tongue of my trailer. The tongue is narrow so it doesn't seem to trigger the sensors.
