Well, considering that the taller, 3.21 will turn fewer revolutions over the course of that 5 years than the 3.92 and very few people tow ofyen enough for it to matter, it is a wash there.
Doubtful, since they have to warranty it all.
This whole debate really hinges on what the individual owner's needs/wants are. If you often tow heavy and in hilly/mountainous terrain, the 3.92 is going to allow you to more easily pull that load up a grade at the or near the same speeds you are...
True, however, it is rated to tow 20k with the 3.73. Your assertion that one needs 3.92s in a 1500 to tow with it and avoid excessive trans wear doesnt hold water when a truck rated to tow a lot more than any 1500 can uses 3.73s.
As I said before, if you are towing within manufacturer specs...
IMHO, given the weight difference between front and rear, I would think the 2 with 9/32nds were on the back before (more weight=more wear). I value the ability to steer above rear traction, so I would put those two on the front. Again, just my opinion.
No, but the diesel is and it comes with 3.73s. The Ford F350 dually also comes with 3.73s and the F250 SRW comes with 3.31s. Using the above logic about transmission wear concerns, none of those would have 3.73s or 3.31s, considering the additional weight they can tow.
Bottom line is, if you...
I dont know what your definition of light trailer hauling is, but for reference, I live in Missouri, where flat towing virtually doesnt exist. I tow a fiberglass bass boat with my truck (5.7 etorque, 3.21 gears) without any problem and average 15mpg doing it. Empty, I am averaging 19-20mpg...
Yeah, I knew that part, what I didnt know was what color the wires would be to each post. I ended up plugging the extra hitch pieces together and cutting them off and then ran continuity tests to verify the wires. The orange wire is the backup, black is the constant 12v and white is ground.
Do you happen to know which colors Curt uses for the backup, constant 12v and the ground? Im wanting to solder up my connections on my work bench before I crawl under the truck to rig my lights.
I won several shows over a 10 year period using Adams products. Their stuff is expensive but good if you want a show finish. Back then my truck was garaged, so the stuff lasted a long time, offsetting the cost. Ive since moved, bought a boat and traded trucks. Now my truck sits outside and...
Probably a stupid question, but if you air up to the max psi (for towing or whatever) does the TPMS light come on? My sticker says 36psi but that just seems too low for towing my boat.
