What did you do to your Ram today???

Got caught in a lighting storm at 2am last week while camping in the Roof Top Tent with the gf and our two dogs, had to move into the truck for safety, not being able to open the windows to circulate the air because of the heavy rain was not fun, learned my lesson and just finished installing...

Yeah there are some tweaks I need to do as I noticed it was bowing a bit, thanks for the tip!

Maddog88 pretty much nailed it, truck caps are very pricey and the dealers I contacted wouldn't give a straight answer about how much weight the bed caps could handle which I didn't like. Plus the rack gives me the mounting options for my recover boards, axe and shovel and fuel and water packs...

What did you do to your Ram today???

Nice! Yeah so far I've been on the highway a few times and have had no issues with the shutters, the wire is pretty thin and at the top of the shutter so when they are closed it would barely effect them if at all. I was in a bit of a time crunch when installed the lights so there was no way I...

What did you do to your Ram today???

Well its not pretty, but it works to get the bed rack and tent (250lbs) onto the truck by myself, and comes together nicely with the Decked system.

For now I ran them through the very top shutter leaving some slack in the line for when they do close, only because I was in a rush and didn't want to have to take the whole grill off, but if it becomes an issue then I'll take the whole grill off and go from there.

What did you do to your Ram today???

If you look at my post at the bottom of page 525 you'll see my rig with a Tepui Autana 4 person roof top tent, measures 4ft x 6ft when its folded up for transport and 6ft x 8ft when deployed, its sitting on a KB Voodoo MAX Modular Steel Max 18'' frame works extremely well and holds 700lbs static...

    Amateur Radio (ham) install

Don't know what to tell you, once I pulled that plastic oval grommet out this is the round metal hole in the truck that it was filling, you can even see the blue glue from the plastic oval grommet in both pictures (the second picture was when I just pushed the oval grommet up into the truck and...

    Amateur Radio (ham) install

Yeah thats it, mine was the same, just pop it out from the top inside the cab and you'll see the hole is circular, if for what ever reason its not you can always glue it back in. The first picture is the one under the driver side, the others are the one I removed under the passenger side but...

    Amateur Radio (ham) install

Yeah its that same one, plastic oval grommet just behind the floor storage bin its on both the driver and passenger sides of the truck, if you remove the storage bin and lift the carpet you can use a pry tool to pop it off, its just glued, for what ever reason the plastic grommet is oval but the...

    Amateur Radio (ham) install

Way too late now but figured I'd post incase anyone else is doing the same install. I was able to pop that plastic bit out from inside the cab by removing some trim on the bottom of the door and the storage bin and lifting up the carpet, after that's removed its actually just a circular hole...

Running antenna cable from outside into cab using the under cab pass through hole

This may be too late but I just ran my cable and used a pry too to pop that plastic bit out from inside the cab, once its removed its actually just a circular hole that a 25.4mm rubber grommet fits in perfectly, I cut an x in it and fed the cable through, tomorrow I will silicone it up.

It is the 18'' high steel KB Voodoo bed rack - https://www.max-modular.com/shop-max-modular/steel-max-18-high-truck-bed-rack It doesn't fit in the stake holes though, just sits on the bed rail and clamps to it like a tonneau cover would.

Took the truck out for its first camping trip, handled great, have a few tweaks to do for packing but thats why you go out and learn what works and what doesn't. Also may look into air bags for the rear because of the level kit in the front and the weight in the back when packed up the front...

What did you do to your Ram today???

A couple reasons, mainly I couldn't bring myself to drill a 2'' hole into anything metal on a new truck and just didn't like anywhere in the front for it to go, I also back into my garage, so that is just a very easy to get to spot and it sort of blends in with the trailer hitch plugs on the...
