These things happen. I've had Ford buy back a lemon truck, Acura had to fix problems with an Integra that I owned, and I had problems right out of the box with my first Ram. They have wide tolerances for defects on vehicles unfortunately. We all pay a lot of money for these trucks so we expect...
I put on foot onto the step bar, and then my other foot onto the top of the tire to reach into my truck bed. Then I pound my chest like Tarzan and climb back down.
Gotcha. As others have said, it would helpful to know year and trim level of your truck. Also describe your radio headunit. Is it a 12" screen, an 8.4" screen, or a 5" screen. If you can't pinpoint it using the AlphaOBD, you'll need to test the wiring. IMO it's either one of three things: 1) a...
Is this truck still under warranty? It sounds like we are past the easy stuff, like someone forgot to plug them in or that they are blown. Assuming under warranty, take it to the dealer. That is what warranties are for.
I've been a long-time subscriber to Consumer Reports. I value their opinions but won't treat it as gospel. I've noticed over the years that every issue has some kind of car ranking. You always have to be sure what they are measuring. One month it's reliability. The next it's owner satisfaction...
I got many of those ideas from others here. I just put together the 'greatest hits' album.
I must not have purchased through Amazon, but one of the best minor appearance upgrades that I did was adding the front tow hooks. It's ridiculous that Ram stopped making them standard. Within weeks of...
That is why I've never ordered a truck. I find one on a lot that checks most of the boxes and am always happy. I get anxious just waiting for the next thing to arrive from Amazon. I can't wait 3-6 months for a truck to show up.
For me it's been a few things:
Bullrings for stake pockets - Front: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HS4FJ4V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Bullrings for stake pockets - Rear...
I'll just throw out the obvious one. If it was snowing when you bought it and you are living in a cold state, have you tried getting the truck washed and then trying the sunroof immediately afterward? It's possible that everything is frozen, such as when your windows won't open for weeks on end...
It doesn't matter where the damage happened in the supply chain, they sold you a vehicle with obvious damage. That's on them 100% whether they caught it or not. It is doubtful that you will get a local dealer to do that work because it's not a RAM problem, it's a dealer problem. They should set...
Not lemon law like my other story, but when my 2015 Ram was diagnosed with cam & lifter failure I traded it in on my 2021 Ram. Multiple dealers that I was shopping at told me that they would not fix my 2015 but just sell it at dealer auction. The dealer who sold me my 2021, put it on the used...
I could have been more specific. Vehicles typically aren't bought back under the Lemon Law for minor issues. However, you are right that every state is different. Dealer buy-backs are pretty common with the tight supply these days, so they will make deals for almost any reason. Manufacturers...
These all hit my thoughts right on the head. A vehicle is never bought back for minor reasons. When I got Ford to buy back my truck, it took extreme documentation that there were multiple things wrong that a dealership was not able to correct in a reasonable number of opportunities. Were all of...
If it's still under warranty, take it in so that the problem is on record.
It could be the Hemi tick. It could be a failing lifter. It could be just about anything.
Agreed. Most accessories for new trucks have that disclaimer. I wouldn't be worried but I would still follow Cbty2050's advice and call the manufacturer.
When I had similar in my 2015, folks on this forum had me thinking it was the hemi tick. Little did I know that the cam shaft and lifter were failing. I didn't get that figured out until the truck was out of warranty.
If you aren't sure and you want to make sure that you can get warranty work...
