Well, this morning my little amber check engine light came on. Code P026C, fuel injection amount lower than expected. Truck seems to be running fine, but I’m calling the dealer just to have it on record. Gonna set up my big scanner later and monitor the injectors for myself on the ride home...
@djevox @Rebelguy2020 I agree with both of you. I may transition to a different oil after this next cycle. I haven’t considered showing the analysis to my dealer, but that’s not a bad idea if something happens in the future. I may run T6 or QS next change and see the results then. I will say the...
Just got my most recent analysis in. 40,000 miles in for the sample. Still running a 5k interval. Mixed driving. 42k currently on the truck. Lemme know what y’all think.
I’m considering it at this point. My truck is running just fine right now (fingers crossed) and my dealer has no idea when a repair will become available to them.
mY 3.92's CoUlD'vE DoNe IT bEttER! lol.
I think my heaviest haul was last year on a big ski trip. I rolled over a scale at 7400 pounds and the truck felt just fine to me. She was defintely riding a bit lower than normal. I pumped my tires up to 40 pounds for the trip. There were 5 husky gents...
Not too much of a climb, but maybe something to think about. Though I can’t imagine this motor falling apart at only 67,000 miles. I will say I agree with a shorter interval though, but that’s just my .02 cents. My last report held 21 PPM of aluminum. Gonna send another 5K sample of Pennzoil...
That orange is quite the color! And thanks the green was my first choice when ordering. I think you made a good choice with your truck too though, and you're making it your own! Inspires me to do more stuff to mine!
Pulled a 23-24’ Shamrock pilot house for a buddy last year. Only ~ 30 miles trip but the truck pulled it like a dream. Only thing I’d change is maybe I’d like helper springs as the trailer was pretty tongue heavy. Was told the boat weighed 6,000 pounds and the trailer was another few hundred.
This issue went away in my '21 after the DEF Inducement recall. Granted that doesn't help you if your truck doesn't have the recall. I would maybe ask your service manager at your dealer if they could upload that latest PCM Flash/Service Pack. Mine only took about 30 minutes while I waited...
Definitely a little higher than mine, I believe my last analysis came back with around 21-23 PPM of aluminum. Here is another thread where some of us have been posting oil analysis so you can compare!

We have a few EcoDiesels...
I'm also nearing my next change. Gonna send out another sample of Pennz 5W-40, then maybe a cycle or two with Shell T6. curious to see my metal numbers now at 40k miles!
So, it doesn't look like Rotella did a bad job at all, but still a bit high on the aluminum front. But like we've heard and said, these engines have higher aluminum numbers than some. Thanks for posting these results djevox.
Welcome and Congratulations on that beautiful truck! I bet you're gonna love the fuel mileage you get with this 2wd rig.
I'd say just be religious with your oil changes, don't go over your intended interval whether its every 7.5 k miles or every 5 k, whatever, these motors like clean oil. It...
I've been very happy with my Ecodiesel so far, I've now had it for almost 2 years, but to cover your points...
1) I absolutely notice a difference in fuel consumption while towing. My HEMI would struggle to get 11-12 MPG towing my old side by side on a 2 axle equipment trailer (App 5,500...
