It can be done. I did it with my 2014 mega cab,then with my 2021 longhorn.

I had this in my 2014 megacab. After much searching, I found a small passage through the sealant on the front windshield far right bottom edge. Only did it with recirculation knob in certain position. A little sealant fixed it nicely. Took a while to locate it though.

Your correct it doesn't have a functioning gear limiter. Only drive rev. Neutral park. I tried and obviously it can do it by grabbing the wire or wires in the steering column. But I cold only get limited schematics from dealer parts department not a tech. They aren't very concerned with my...

I'm unsure. I don't have the paddles. Just the buttons on the steering wheel and the shifter in the console.

Just parts and wiring. It did require some custom work like the mount in my console and moving a couple of pins in the harness but nothing too bad.

All functions work on shifter except + and _ gear adj. I like it better on my steering wheel and was unsure it I could adjust from steering wheel and shifter. So I stopped there. May return to the delimma may not.

It is possible. I've done it. 2021 1500 4x4 longhorn. Looks and works great.
