I would say for quality bass get a sub. The doors are just not the best location to get bass from. I replace my door speakers with jl audio c2 and dash with kenwoods. Vocals and highs are excellent but over power the bass from doors. I disable the tweeters from 2 doors by cutting the wire to the...
This is probably because the 5" head unit didn't provide enough quality power. I have the 8" and in think about adding an amp to properly power my doors which has jl audio c2. I just ordered some kenwood 3.5s for the dash.

How loud were the kickers compare to stock? Did you use bass blockers? I'm on the fence with getting these or the kenwoods which has lower efficiency.

Was hoping for a cheaper answer lol. I guess I have to flex the wallet a bit more.
The main issue I have is that the highs from the C2s doesnt sound right. It's too loud with no real bass and louder than the mids but everything is crystal clear. It like this when playing music with android...
I have seen on some have added a low pass filter on the front doors to eliminate the highs since there are highs already from the dash. Can someone explain what I need to do to achieve this? I have searched for low pass filter and all I get is the filter on an amp. I am looking for something...
Did you install an amp for the door speakers ? I wondering if I amplify the doors that would increase the bass response. I dont need crazy amount of base, just a bit more.

The bass is decent but not crazy. It could use a woofer to get those sub base frequencies out. I had to turn down the treble because the highs were somewhat overpowering but the system seem more...

Are you talking about at the fuse box? Sorry not very versed with car electronics although I'm very good with other electronics.

No I didn't change my dash out yet. Not sure where you saw that.
I'm still trying to figure out the best way to build my audio setup.
I see a lot of people on here installing bass blockers to reduce the output of the dash since the stock speaker are 8ohms and most aftermarket are 4ohms.
