Yeah, my truck surges every morning when I’m off to work when the truck is cold. There’s a TSB and updates to supposedly fix, but I have not seen an improvement. It’s like the etorque system is applying you much resistance to the motor and then it releases and the truck surges forward with...
I tried an aftermarket air filter and it seemed to change the resonance and reduce the vibration/noise a bit. Worth a try for $40.

My truck does the same thing (among other transmission shifting/vibration issues). You can also reproduce the thump if you shift from Park, Drive, Reverse when stopped. You’ll hear it clunk back and forth from underneath. I just went through 3 dealer visits, FCA Customer Care, NCDS arbitration...
Nice! I tried a bolt on resonator and it’s much quieter but I still feel the buzz at 2000 RPM in the wheel and pedals and seat. Bummer. It was worth a shot! Thanks for sharing.
That’s good to hear, I didn’t seem to have the same luck. I don’t know if the cold hesitation/shifting issues are due to the transmission/clutch not moving freely due to too little or too much oil, or viscosity of oil, or if it’s the etorque system putting too much load or resistance on the...
OP or not, I hope you guys get the outcome you’re looking for.
For OP, sounds the warranty is the best bet if you still like the truck otherwise. I did not receive an offer from FCA when working with a case specialist - so be thankful of that! At least you’re receiving communication and a...
Interesting! The 3.6L does have a resonator at the rear, near the exit. Where was your muffler guy going to add a resonator? Upstream of the muffler?
I was wondering if maybe there is an exhaust leak somewhere, maybe near the cats or something... I will be very interested to hear the outcome...
My 3.6L Ram does this as well. I did not vibrate when purchased, but developed after a couple thousand miles. It vibrates in the same 1800-2100 range reported in this thread. Gas pedal, floor, steering wheel, drivers seat. I’ve measured a 6db increase in cabin noise when this occurs.
Do you feel any vibrations? Using a db meter, it registers 6 additional db noise in the cab @ 2000 RPM compared to noise level just under and just over that RPM. Vibrations are also felt in the gas pedal, steering wheel, floor, and drivers seat.
Yeah. I bought the Mopar lugs. About $50 per wheel, but I went OEM for the things that hold the wheel on. :ROFLMAO:
I’m surprised they don’t come black by default. On the Night edition that’s the only “chrome” on the truck.
I’m sorry to hear that, your experience sounds very sounds familiar. Submit a claim with NCDS to see if they can help. That’s the next step in the process advertised on FCA’s site.

You have to run a bottle style resonator in addition to the muffler kit. The 3.6L is way too loud without it. Borla makes one designed for the Ram pipes, which is just shy of 3” OD. It’s a little pricey but looks like great quality.
I also am struggling to reach my case specialist. I call in, speak to someone else, they can’t help. Ask my specialist to call me back, and I wait... Email, no response. I’m staying patient, but it’s tough. I understand the frustration, for sure.
Interesting. My Big Horn with the 3.6L does the same thing at 2000 RPM. Pedals, wheel, floor, seat, all buzz/vibrate. Is it the exhaust? My dealer says it’s a characteristic of the vehicle, but it doesn’t seem like it should be normal...
For me, it feels like maybe an exhaust leak, or drone. Running stock exhaust, so not sure... I don’t know what would else could cause vibration at the specific RPM. Everything above and below 2000 is quiet and smooth. No vibrations or buzzing. Very odd.
