Yes, I had the AC on and apparently only does it when shutting down the engine when the AC was on.
I have heard "air pressure" sounds in other cars when shutting down but never a burbling noise.

I am getting sometimes a gurgling or bubbling noise coming from my engine bay behind the dash when turning the engine off, it seems to last 3-5 seconds.
Is this normal?

The two hoses that are connected to the transmission start lower downstream the main coolant lines and are in no way dependent of the heater core lines, it appears the core lines are truly independent.
So you only slowed the coolant flow to the heater core and you are OK with your output temps? Would you consider them similar to other good working ac?
The quality of the shutoff valve you use for this mod is crucial to say the least and a point that can fail and leave you stranded on the side of the road, better get the best you can find.
I might have a solution to try today, will post preliminar results in a few hours.
