side mirror removal to replace mirror cap

Look at this! I've been away for awhile because of work overseas and you guys come up with a slick solution! (y)

    Fingers Crossed...Brake Squeal Resolved

@RamCares: Major disappointment! The new TSB does not cover a sufficient span of builds! I have the rear brakes issues with an October 14, 2018 build, and the dealer I'm working with has November and December builds with the same issues and, of course, the corporate computer won't allow...

Best UV protection for Tonneau covers

Help Deciding, Ordering new Ram tomorrow.

Availability changes dynamically based on several variables. So if you know it was a configuration sold in the past, you can have the dealer keep trying and you may also want to try a dealer in a different region. The highest volume dealers also get the most allocations so smaller shops...

Help Deciding, Ordering new Ram tomorrow.

What are you after for the truck? For instance, seems like you planned to tow until I got down to the wheel choice? That would help answer. However, I'd say you want to get the larger fuel tank.

    Rusting front chrome tow hooks

I'll be looking for sure. Modern plating is aesthetic only. Hard chroming is no longer done for any modern automotive trim. Even so, they shouldn't be trusting like that. Are you certain it is rust? Have you tried polishing it off with Wenol or a fine chrome polish? It is possible they...

Another recall? This one for inadequate defrost.

WoW! That is brow lifting with the only remedy as a buy-back. Has to be pretty major if they cannot a remedy at a dealer, and keep in mind Ford had a recall once that required lifting the entire body off to get at the motor...

    License Plate Reverse light

Good luck, winter doesn't want to quit here either! I swear the horses at the farm across the street are eyeballing my RAM for the giant salt lick it could be!

    Inside the new RAM bed

There are no official caps for the rivnut holes for the rails. One option is to get the rivnuts, install them, and thread in machine screws painted to match. However, the rivnuts are FCA-specific and pricey individually. The less expensive option would be to get black nylon push in "tree"...

    Time to see what works...

If you want an old towers $0.02, invest in rearview camera and monitor setup. Can't be beat for field of view on the road, and your marriage will go longer backing into campsites!

Lock'er Down Console Safe - Install

No, you're not fitting anything more than a pocket pistol barrel forward. The safe can contain my commander size 1911s, but normally my Shield is in there will additional mags. When I place in the safe, the mag has been ejected and chamber cleared.

Lock'er Down Console Safe - Install

Depends on the lock you got. I have the electronic, and the console tray won't clear if you leave the mat under the safe. Another member with the standard lock said he could leave it. It's pretty easy trimming if you're patient.

Driver's side armrest too narrow/short for tall folks?

I'm 6'-5" and 56" chest. Can't say that my arm has rested on the door side armrest in any of my trucks whether GM or RAM. The left arm is always on the wheel so elbow is resting on top of door panel. It's my right arm that lounges on the console. :)

Back up camera so dark at night.

What do you mean? One of those units that go in the receiver tube? If so, others here reported they were pretty poor. If you are asking if it affects the way the trailer wiring works, it does not at all. After I saw what the VLED LPR could do, I was sold!

    Aftermarket Intakes, just read please.

I've had some of the most radically modified, emissions legal, cop-calling, and Friday night quarter mile pickups - my favorites were my twin turboed '95 S10 and my blown and stroked '98 K1500. My Cummings has been tuned as well for working performance. However, my best performance advice, buy...

    License Plate Reverse light

Follow the details we've built on the thread to install a pigtail onto the trailer wiring. It is almost paint by numbers! Totally reversible too with no alterations to the factory wiring!

Back up camera so dark at night.

If he has the LED tails, there's no way to change. Install a VLEDS LPR - see the thread on it - problem solved! Worked so well, I put one on my other truck and the back of my camper!

    License Plate Reverse light

Would look better with black since it is black. It can be done. You will jus4 need a couple of washers under the bolt holes since it's designed to overlay the top edge of your plate.

    Fingers Crossed...Brake Squeal Resolved

You can go to ANY RAM dealer for warranty work! I bought off the lot states away and work with my closest dealer for warranty. In fact, they arranged for me to ride with FCA engineer over the brake issues. My rear brakes have developed 3 different but inter-related problems with 2500 miles on...
