I did mine, just turn them in the counterclockwise direction, the whole piece will come out. they are a bear to break loose and a bit of a challenge to get back in oriented to align with the socket.
I think I discovered that in the dash it still shows locked all the time, but in the center console it shows locked/unlocked as it should.
This truck is really turning out to be the worst purchase I've ever made, and also my first Ram.
So I get to add totally dead batteries to my Rebel problems list. Drove to my parents for Christmas eve, stayed the night, went out to leave this afternoon, and nothing. No light, no horn. Put dads charger on it for a couple hours and it started. when I connected the charger, the horn started...
I have no issues with it... all other engine parameters are electric nowadays (temp/pressure/rpm). Keeping the oil level below MAX is probably best as well, less chance of frothing and windage.

I just installed the Lasfit combo pack bulbs in my truck, definitely brighter. I haven't driven at night yet, but the switchback white isn't as bright as I had hoped. The fronts really are a pain to change.
there is an oil level update procedure. warm engine, let sit a few mins on level ground. turn ignition to run and wait 4 minutes. turn off the power. that is supposed to reset the oil level to whatever the current level is. It is spelled out in the manual.
Just finished my 1st oil change. Very disappointed to see oil coming out of the weep hole in the bell housing! looks like a rear main seal leak. Oil all over the sway bar and I noticed small oil spots in my driveway... the list of issues is ridiculous, and this just adds to the pile. A lifetime...
was the TSB for cold start issues. could be coincidence, they confirmed my center console was already current. I have no explanation why the transfer case lock works all of sudden.
