This was answered for me elsewhere, but I'll add it here, too. The PIN is not required to alter the BCM. It is required to modify some other things.
I purchased AlfaOBD, the SGW bypass, and the OBD interface, and was able to turn on my trailer brake controller and theft alarm.
Still...
I blundered into this by accident, while cleaning a carpet, three trucks ago.
If you are one of those people who does mechanical stuff, and you use blue nitrile gloves, give those a try.
Put on the glove and just wipe across the carpet. The dog hair will just pull up, and roll up.
We bought Weathertech for both of our Honda vans (2009 and 2019.) My Ram came with the heavy duty Mopar mats.
The Weathertechs are quite good (can't speak to the W-techs for the Ram) but the Ram mats are outstanding!
Sorry you got drilled.
I wouldn't sweat the shavings too much. The gas running out probably would have removed most - if not all - of them.
The rest are probably so large that the pump "sock" or at least the fuel filter will get them.
Keep pushing. IMHO, you ought to be able to get a lot more off, even for an order. Look at the dealer's website, and see what kind of deals they are offering for "in stock" vehicles that are equipped similarly to what you want. They ought to be able to come close.
Always interesting to see peoples' 2-way installs, as well as how much the tech has advanced, over the years.
I never bothered with a HAM ticket. I worked for Motorola for ten years, doing commercial and public safety radio, and then went to work for the power company, also doing radio and...
Okay, I'm glad it's not just mine. (Not that I'm glad that it's bugging anyone else.)
Last time I heard a racket like that was in an old VW bug, with the sunroof open and the windows up. THRUMMMM!!!
Good info about the rain sensor already being present. I'll have to give it a try.
FWIW... I believe the outside air temp sensor is in the driver's side outside mirror. (Think I read that elsewhere on this forum.)
If I park my truck in the summer sun, I will see absurdly high outside temp...
I used these same pieces. They work fine.
In addition, you will need an Android tablet (or phone) or a Windows laptop.
Go to https://www.alfaobd.com/
Download and install the app. (You will need Paypal or a credit card.)
Set it up on your tablet or computer, using the Bluetooth. The BAFX3127...
It is my understanding that no "i" device will work. Just Windows and Android.
I am using an ancient Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. You should be able to find a used Galaxy Tab, or Galaxy Note something-or-other for cheap, especially if it doesn't have cellular capability.
I believe that Samsung...
I have found that when my radio is hot (as in "summer... sitting in the sun") and I stop and restart the truck several times in a row, that the radio (8.4. No NAV) will go black, and go off into never-neverland. It has never NOT recovered in a few minutes, however.
It's only done it a couple of...
~7300 miles. Getting 13-15 MPG with 3.92s.
4x4 Big Horn. Hemi. No eTorque.
I'm not sure if my MPG is getting worse, or if I'm just driving it harder than I was when it was new.
The most recent (and worst) tank had some idling and some 4WD HI operation, too. I know that will kill MPG.
Has anyone here experimented with resetting their PCM to "factory default"? - aka resetting "adaptives"?
When I had my Challenger R/T, back in '09-'12, lots of the people on ChallengerTalk (Can I say that here?) were talking about doing this. "Resetting adaptives". It basically involved pulling...
There are several videos out on YouTube that sort of "chronicle" the problem.
But then, YouTube is kind of like Forums (including this one). All you hear about are the broken ones, and the "problem children". You never hear about the vast majority of stuff that hums happily along, because there...
Yes! This!
I really... really like how intuitive this truck is with downshifts and engine braking, when I'm driving in traffic.
Strangely enough, I have a Pontiac G6 GT with the 4 speed (more primitive) automatic, that has similar programming when you pull it down into "3", out of overdrive...
