I get it. The temp sensor is in the mirror. Unless the truck is moving, it's going to read high, if it's been sitting in the sun.
My question is, Why? Why couldn't Ram put the stupid sensor behind the grill, out of the direct sunlight, where everyone else puts them?
If my truck had heated seats...
Purchased in June of 2019. ~22K on the odo.
The only real issues I've had with mine are with the entertainment system continuously resetting when I plug my iPod Touch into the USB. It worked okay, once, and the next time I drove it, it started this resetting BS. They ought to do better than...
It's a flashing red light in the cluster that lets you know the alarm system is armed. (The alarm system will work without it, but it's nice to have the indicator that it's active.)
Wow! Lots of info since I last posted here, after activating my trailer brake controller and security alarm. Lots of reading to "catch up".
A couple of quick questions....
The new version of AlfaOBD... will my Android device automatically update it, if it's internet capable? If not, is it a...
It's actually easy to do while driving. Just punch the "Gear limit" buttons on the bottom right of the wheel. Keep pushing until you are in "8", but not "D8"
This limits the highest gear you can select. Putting it in "8" leaves all the automatic shifting as normal, but locks out MDS.
When you activate the alarm, you also have to turn on the security indicator light. (I forget what it's called.) It's been a while since I did mine, but I believe that's right.
I also activated my trailer brake controller, after I bought and installed the kit.
It really amazes me.
I am on the side of the buyer but, legally, I believe the dealer doesn't have to do squat.
With that said, I can't imagine that the dealer wouldn't want to pay for a $2-300 repair (probably their cost, maximum) in order to keep in the good graces of a long time customer.

I took my truck to my local Sunoco Express Lube (owned by a fellow gearhead friend of mine), for it's first oil change. Was around 4000 miles. They told me to go away, and not to come back before 7000. (Oil life monitor still showed a very high percentage.)
When I finally went back, at around...
Without having read through all of the comments...
I don't like the new Chevy. At all. I like the GMCs even less.
When I bought my '19 Ram, a 2018 Chevy would have been a consideration (and would have saved me a bunch of coin) but they were all gone by the time I was ready to purchase.
I'm not...
My thoughts, exactly.
But how do you take them out? I've got large plugs, with a small plug in the middle. Figured the small plug was a pin that "unplugs" from the large plug, but I almost broke my knife trying to pry it up.
Found this thread, doing a search, so pardon if it's explained...
This is exactly the information I was looking for. And, sadly, it's pretty much what I expected.
I've really enjoyed my SiriusXM, since I bought my truck in June, but their business model blows goats. If I could get a subscription for a reasonable amount of money, and, most importantly, not...
You'll need AlfaOBD, an Android or Windows tablet (or other non "i-product" device), a Security Gateway Bypass module, and a Bluetooth interface to plug into your OBDII connector.
I have enabled my trailer brake controller and security system with the above pieces.
Edit - Sorry. Never heard of...
