Same here. 5 years ago our builder gave the same advice. At the time I drove a ES350 and never wanted a truck. Things changed, I love my truck, and the big garage.
The guys who designed the thermostats, and A/C temp controls must have been as high as kites. I have to set the A/C to 67 too cool things off, in the winter 71 will cook your balls off. I can’t tell what they were thinking.
I quit looking. Hid all of the mpg on my dashboard and ignore the trip info as well. I have a steep, long, driveway in a very hilly neighborhood. I’m screwed.
I just hit 3k miles. My average on my last couple of tanks was between 14.7 & 15.2 mpg. I live in a very hilly area and very few highway miles.
When I drove from Austin to Little Rock I got 16.6 for the round trip. I averaged 85-90 mph on the drive.
I did have to pull the carpet part way down the C pillar. I only went as far as I needed to. I don’t remember how many buttons I removed. I just pulled carpet down a little at a time until I could unplug the sub.
Good luck.
Just got my truck back today. Replacing the clock spring only partially fixed. The dealer found this in their testing and let me know it would be another day to get the firewall bearing in and replaced.
On Dec 19th I was told the clock spring was back ordered for 45 days. Got a call today that the part is in and I’m scheduled to have it installed next Tuesday. I’ll post my results.
I didn’t have to in my limited. There is a string behind the seat, close to the door. Pull it down and the seat can be pulled forward. Look fo other threads I have posted in and you will find details(not mine). Pull the back carpet down. This terrified me as I am not very good at this stuff...
I’m also an audiophile with a similar sound goal as you. I was surprised when it broke in. There was another thread about the abnormally long break in time. No, it doesn’t make it what it should be, but it is more palatable. As I save my nickels and dimes I will slowly upgrade the system...
