Errors have happened. A couple of years ago, Toyota had a recall over errant load labels. Consider getting your truck weighed on a certified scale as a first step, taking into consideration your weight and the weight of anything added.
It would be helpful and interesting to know the official...
This needs to be accurate to within 1 percent of an auto’s actual weight, under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 S10.
Manufacturers submit certified weight figures for every accessory and trim combination.
Could you find a Longhorn with the ASG? Otherwise, get the ASG. It’s really nice...if you don’t, every time you tap the brake with the cruise on because of a care ahead of you, you’ll know you chose poorly.
The best MPG without getting run over is rural roads at 55. Here are the results of a study of mpg vs mph of various vehicles. 55 to 60 seems to be a sweet spot. The bottom brown line is a full size pickup. The rest are cars and a small SUV.

My two tone order was their excuse for a 99 day build...nothing compared to your experience. Your post is helpful for those whose orders are in prison, with key names and contacts.
Thank you for taking the time to post your experience and for advocating for us, the customers. I fully agree...
The proof will be in the sales numbers. The GM loyalists will defend the new interior and overall design. Getting new buyers over from Ford, Ram and Tundra will be hard with this truck, IMO.
