    Couldn’t live without

Interesting... even WITH RAM Boxes, your payload is higher than mine, and our trucks are pretty close equipment-wise. I have eTorque and the factory bed step, but almost the same otherwise. -John

Nice truck! What's your payload? -John

    Couldn’t live without

I too gave up on the RAM Boxes... couldn't find the other options I really wanted AND the RAM Boxes, and come to find out, they're a heavy hit to payload. While I agree with Apexcars - they are quite handy - I just didn't want any lower of a payload (1,320lbs on my truck). I got everything...

Air Suspension not returning to Normal mode after Easy entry setting.

1500 miles later and mine still goofs once in a while - but only if I lower the air suspension using the key fob. If I use the toggle, it works properly 100% of the time. With the key fob, it's like 1/3rd of the time that it'll raise itself. I just go a hundred feet and hit the toggle up, or...

    Price negotiated from MSRP

That's phenomenal! My lie-o-meter currently reads 17.4, but I've seen as high as 18.2. Currently at about 1,550 miles on the odometer. Compared to my last truck, this one is about .5 mpgs higher, and not even broken in yet! (same commute, temps, etc. as old truck) As for these deals, y'all...

    Do you like your MDS?

Use the gear limit buttons on the lower-right of the steering wheel. Even if you allow up to 8th gear, it'll disable MDS, from what I've read. -John

    Tyger T1 Tonneau Cover

This is quite interesting. I have had BAK Revolver covers on my last 2 trucks, and after a couple of years the felt on the underside comes unglued, and on my last one, the vinyl started separating from the aluminum underneath. Plus, they're heavy (90lbs). With this cover, how do you keep dirt...

    Do you like your MDS?

Oh, another thing I haven't seen mentioned about MDS... FCA doesn't advertise it. In all the hours I spent researching RAM 1500s, not once did I read that MDS was a feature. It's like the eTorque badging... there isn't any. -John

    Do you like your MDS?

I can't usually tell when MDS kicks in, but sometimes I'll hear a slightly different exhaust note or feel the engine change its tone, if that makes sense. Very much unobtrusive, and if I am not paying attention for the MDS on/off transition, I don't even notice it. I didn't even know my truck...

any colorado owners running straight 85 octane?

Off topic, but just having the 33-gallon tank can be unfriendly to other customers. More than a few times when I was filling the 36-gallon tank in my F-150, I'd get honked at by other customers. I guess they couldn't believe that a vehicle could take so much fuel. If they'd looked, they...

First time towing with a lifted truck.

I hope it works for you! I should've prefaced my post with, "I'm no towing expert, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night." I recently got into towing, since I bought my 7x14 enclosed trailer, so I know what I learned during that research. My towing experience before that was...

    Air conditioning performance

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense. :D -John

First time towing with a lifted truck.

Well, I have a 4" drop bar for my 7x14 enclosed trailer, 7k GVWR, and that worked fine with my F-150. BUT, with my new RAM w/air suspension, I'll need a 6" drop bar to compensate for the AS compensating for the squat... so there's that. I'd ask someone at your work, or purchase one of those...

See if the dealer will "buy down the rate" on your loan ... I got 3.31% for 72mos. Not through a credit union. -John

    5.7 e-torque or regular hemi?

Where I drive, if you ain't first, you're last! In actuality, quick starts come in handy, and yet there's so much idling at lights. Then, if you want to tow over 8k lbs, the 3.92s are needed... and now you see why my truck has the 3.92s and eTorque :D -John

    Air conditioning performance

SO TRUE! I had a 2015 F-150 prior to this RAM, and the seat cooling was sub-par in that truck. I had the professionally-made kit from SeatGuru (in the thread you mentioned), and even did a write-up with pictures on my automotive blog for his customers. It made a huge difference. I typically...

    5.7 e-torque or regular hemi?

That's the best news I've heard all day! I am not an early adopter for most tech, but seem to really want the latest & greatest tech toys in my vehicles. -John

    5.7 e-torque or regular hemi?

I know I'm a broken record, but I loved my eTorque this morning. I was enjoying an easy commute until I hit some traffic. I spent several minutes with the engine off which on my last truck would've been spent idling, wasting fuel. I love the auto stop/start feature on my new truck! My...

    Price negotiated from MSRP

Push them to match the CarMax... but it *IS* only $600, so I wouldn't sweat it. Sounds like a sweet deal! I might be a little jealous of all you who are benefiting from the increased incentives... but at the same time I drove my truck to work this morning and marveled at how comfortable and...

    Price negotiated from MSRP

For what it's worth, I traded in my 2015 F-150 Lariat 502A LOADED with 36k on the odometer, for $32,000 (Original Sticker was $59,220). And this was a month ago. The truck recently sold off their lot - they were asking $35,100, so no telling what they actually got for it. Is that trade-in...
