My dealer quoted me straight MSRP for a non-Launch Edition model today. I would have already ordered it, but we have one small discrepancy to resolve (couldn't add one of the options to the order... just a glitch in the ordering system). I hope to have an actual order form in the next day or so.
I went to my dealer today, and we went to put in an order for a TRX, but with one problem. Even though the online config builder on the public website lets you choose the Trailer Camera Wiring Prep (sales code XFQ), the internal ordering system didn't list it. It does not appear to have been...
As an option, you could get a 12V-to-USB adapter, and power it from the 12V accessory outlet instead - that goes off immediately when the truck is shut off
That's because you have a Laramie, where two-tone is an option. On a Rebel, it comes standard with two-tone paint - you have to add the monotone option if you want a solid color. That's why it doesn't show on the window sticker. Don't worry, OP - they painted your truck correctly! ;)
No, not a problem at all - it's only a problem when one wheel wants to turn faster/slower than the other (like in a turn), and both wheels have very good traction. SOMETHING has to give, and you want that something to be the tire's grip on the road. Otherwise, you're busting U-joints, shearing...
Anti-spin is also known as a limited slip differential. It uses internal clutches to distribute power to both rear wheels, while still allowing differential action - that is, one wheel to spin faster than the other during turns.
The electronic locker is an open differential when not engaged...
On Sunday, I can check compatibility between a buddy's 4th gen (which is actually my old truck) and my current 5th gen - we both have Ram Box dividers. As far as the key, the divider is perfectly usable without a matching key - you just can't lock it in place to prevent theft. I've never...
It's not too good to be true... they're a legitimate dealer selling a legitimate Mopar service contract. They've just decided to sell them at a small markup over their cost, and make their money in volume. To them, making $25 per contract sold, and selling 1,000 of them online is more...
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if there's a way to get the 5th gens to display their OBD-II codes? Earlier gen trucks could be made to display them on the odometer by cycling the ignition 3 times. Is there a similar method on the current models?
It is just a rubber - well, not really a grommet - more like a stud or post. I don't know whey they call it a pivot joint - it neither pivots nor joins anything. It's literally a rubber cylinder with a threaded rod embedded in it.
I did a google search for 68054997AB, and had a ton of hits...
Yep - that's the park override. It's in the owner's manual, page 477, under 'Manual Park Release'. I use mine all the time when putting my vehicle on a 2-post frame lift. I like to have the vehicle in neutral, to easily position it in the lift (after I get out), and don't like leaving the...
Get a milk crate, a piece of PVC pipe (about 18-24" long, sch 80 would be best, but sch 40 will work), some strong zip ties, and a ratchet strap.
With the milk crate right-side up, place the PVC in the center of the long side of the milk crate, flush with the bottom. Zip tie it in place - the...
