Does your trailer have surge brakes or electric? There aren't many WDH's out there that will work with surge. Also, I would contact the manufacturer of your trailer to see if a WDH is even recommended since it puts added stress on the tongue.

I don't use the auto setting and rarely use recirculate. I didn't touch the recirculate button all weekend. I wish it was something that simple though! Ha.

Your old 2007 Ram had less HP/TQ and wasn't an 8-speed either. You can't compare MPG or how it tows to your 2019.
