Note that the sway bar needs to be turned a certain way. It has a top and a bottom. The middle bow needs to be pointed slightly down when mounted on the truck.
I started mounting the new Hellwig sway bar by fixing it to the rear axle with the new shackles...
After much contemplation, supplication and my sweetie asking me when her truck was going to be ready to roll, I decided to go ahead and mount the new Hellwig sway bar as is. So let's get her done! 🤠👍
I used a stone dril point to true up the deformed whole on the left side. The right one is...
Ours did this for a couple of days and my sweetie complained to me about it. But then it went back to working correctly. On our recent road trip, there was no issue at all and I was constantly changing SiriusXM stations between songs using the steering wheel controls.
When you register, it asks for the last 4 of your SSN or your service number. If it can't verify you that way, it asks for your full SSN. If that does not work, you are asked to upload documentation. I uploaded my DD214 and was approved as a veteran in about an hour. For DOD civilians, it...
Here's the response I got back from Hellwig today on the deformities on my sway bar:
Hi, Todd.
The deformities that you’re seeing on both the right and left shoulder of the bar are normal; it’s from our production team picking up the bar to put it in the quench tank, after forming. It happens...
Make a new truck like this, but will better materials, better workmanship, better seats, better engine, and better transmission, BUT the same body, and I'd consider another Chevrolet. I loved this truck, but it might as well have been made our of spit wads and chewing gum.
Not Handy's actual...
Interesting. Yours was only made a week before mine and doesn't have the same issues. So we may indeed be looking at different production lines or at least a different operator doing the work.
The panoramic sunroof in the Ram 1500 is the same design as the ones that have been in the Chrysler 300 since 2011. We owned both a 2011 and 2014 300S with these panoramic roofs and they were both worry free. And since they have been around a decade, any problems would have likely been ironed...
I know this was and is a common problem on the 2019 Ram 1500 trucks. But I was under the impression all these little "new model" issues had been solved by the first batch of 2021 trucks. Please let us know what they find out.

The shackles look pretty nice. No issues there.
I like the Allen head bolts. And there is that bushing grease we talked about. I got it with mine. It has a part number too.
Can't wait to get this installed. I'm off from my day job Friday but have to go do...
Guess what I got already. Some folks are waiting a month. I only had to wait ONE DAY. o_O
LET'S DO SOME UNBOXING
Looks like these come from Visalia, California. Unless they have their own jet plane delivery service, mine must have been staged somewhere a lot closer. Manufacture date was...
No. I've said my piece. And I respect Manny's position on this. Everybody has their own ways of looking at things. I'm not going to argue over ugly squatted truck. I'm saving that for spark plugs. Anything other than NGK "is fightin' words" where I'm from. :D
Let's look at a very similar argument. Adding aftermarket lift kits, suspension parts and tires bigger than the manufacturer recommends alters the vehicle configuration and dynamics the way it was designed. This has everything to do with safety......yours and others.
Humm. Those two...
Lucas makes a pure synthetic grease that works pretty good for stuff like this and doesn't eat into the rubber. It's not as thick as the stuff that often comes with rubber bushings, but it's likely the next best thing. It works well as dielectric grease too. I get it at Advance Auto.
According to the good folks at AAFES, only active duty service members, members of the Guard and Reserves, military retirees, 100-percent disabled veterans, Medal of Honor recipients, and the families of these groups are eligible to shop at AAFES locations, either online or on-base. To apply...
