Here's the way we do it in Arkansas:
But here's how the young folks are doing it for their flashy new Fords and stuff. Just build out from your existing garage.
I have around 260,000 on my 2003 Ram 1500. I think it had about 150,000 on it before I changed the spark plugs. The 4.7 V8 is noisy but seems to last and last. I've got everything for a complete valve train refresh. But it's been running so good lately I haven't even started the work.
Since the peck happened, we've driven the truck every day and even took it on a trip to Memphis last weekend. The small 3/16" spider web has not grown at all and we've been using the pano in all positions. At this point, I'm too worried about immediate failure. So I've got some time.
Thanks...
If the sunroof panel was made out of safety glass, it might be possible to drill out the peck (very small star-shaped crack). The rounded edged of the drill hole would then help evenly disperse the natural stress on the glass and help prevent further cracking. Sealing would then prevent water...
I contacted Safelite as my first choice. They said they would not repair a sunroof, but might be able to replace it. I suspect the dealership would be similar in cost if I went that way. And if I use the dealership, my warranty would still be good on the rest of the sunroof.
Thanks. I will...
What kit did you use?
I checked with my insurance agent and it looks like I am covered with a $500 deductible. Since the place is current so small, I'd like to try some kind of repair kit first. And then if the place grows, I'll likely opt for the replacement.
Right now, it's so small that...
My sweetie came home from work yesterday evening and told me that while on the freeway, a rock flew up and hit the pano sunroof in her 2021 Laramie and left a crack. o_O
On closer inspection this morning, it appears that the "crack" is actually a small rock peck in the glass with what appears...
Same here. I have a wooden valance over the window in my office and some of these same Amazon lights behind it to give ambient light at night. The lights are adjusted to give just enough light so I don't have to turn on a light while at the desk after dark.
Yep,
I'm glad I get these monthly "Health Report" emails. That way I remember that RAM is always watching. :cautious:
PS: It appears I CAN'T "view full info on my dashboard" because the app does not to work correctly. Looks like Stelantis stopped paying the contractor that manages this system.
I decided not to get a new oil pump. Changing it would mean pulling the oil pan to remove the pickup tube. I was only going to replace the oil pump because I thought it would be easy to do with the timing components removed. But since the pan must be dropped too, it's not worth it. I still...
Those holes are 7/16" from the factory. For bumper plugs, I bought four of the HIllman brand 3/8" metal hole plugs at Lowes. Then I used some small pliers to expand the flanges on the back just a little bit. This made them pop in nice and tight in the 7/16" holes.
Just added a set of new lifters to my parts list. Power Seal (formerly Federal-Mogul) is known for quality lifters. And at $19.99 for a 4-pack, I snagged all four packs.
One of the easiest ways to check a vehicle's voltage during regular operation and then compare it to other vehicles is with one of these. Plus these will charge your phone too. If you are worried about accuracy, simply compare its readout to a calibrated multimeter. And again, what you...
Not really a deal in Arkansas. You pay off the loan, then often get a letter from the finance company in a week or two. Then the title shows up when ever it does. I normally write what vehicle it is on the outside of the envelope and chunk it in the safe. Sometimes I don't even open the...
If I'm reading this right, it all sounds perfectly normal to me. I would expect that with the engine running, the voltage across the system (and across the connected batter) should be around 13.2 to 13.7 volts. With the engine off, it should be around 12.2 to 12.7 volts.
Here in 2021, what are the best parts to use when doing a 4.7L valve train refresh in a 2003 Ram 1500? At 260,000 miles, the chain in my 4.7L is getting loud. So far I've obtained a set of HO camshafts, an HO intake manifold and a set of used 2005 or newer rockers with the smaller oil holes...
