I know you're being funny but by "...it's Texas..." I was referring to the fact that most everyone in neighborhood has large trucks/SUVs (which are typically louder than sedans).
The S-Type is not so loud inside cabin that you can't carry on conversation.
#1 Physically verify everything listed on window sticker (specifically options) you're getting on your vehicle. Not because manufacture wouldn't include, but so you confirm items you WANTED and PAID FOR on vehicle, not what you THOUGHT you were getting. e.g. for me I unfortunately didn't know...
Bilstein adjustables for me. If not doing anything to the rear, the perfect 2" level would set clip to highest position (which I believe is 7). That's what I initially did on my stock 2020 Ram, but naturally I later wanted to go higher, so installed 3.5" Readylift SST lift kit with new RL UCAs...
To your last question I'd say minimum 3.5" lift for 35s, but I'm sure you'll get various opinions. This is just my personal experience having 2wd Lone Star. Before going 3.5" lift I had 2" level with 33s which was perfect (wouldn't go any higher than 33s, maybe 34s on 2" level/lift).
I've got NRG 295/65/20's (35.12" diameter) on ReadyLift 3.5" SST lift. Experience some rubbing at nearly full lock in tight, close-quarter turns, and speed highway cloverleaf turns. I added .25" wheel spacers to no avail, so this week plan on upgrading to .5" wheel spacers to see if this helps...
Neighbor across street has one of those fancy, expensive BMW X6Ms with the flat black paint, etc. and his exhaust is as loud if not louder than mine 😂. Also have trucks of various exhaust notes, so it'd be hard to target any one particular owner, so I'm not too worried about neighbor...
I installed Borla S-Type full cat-back and while I love it (no denying that sound) I probably could've gone with the quieter Touring. Cold start on S-Type is incredible. Hear the rumble in cabin but in a good way, not too loud. So as I'm typing this not sure if I could actually go down from...
I’m running NRG’s on Readylift 3.5” SST lift, Lone Star Night Edition, 2wd. Got rubbing on speed right turns (eg highway cloverleafs), so added .25” wheel spacers. Still getting, so plan on adding .5” spacers. Hope this solves. Not sure why others with similar set up not experiencing same...
Thought ‘21 XLTs could now be optioned with push button start?...Either way Ram interior and ride quality still exceeds F-150 IMO which is why so many of us made the switch...Everyone got the FCA Conquest discount right? Was $1,500 for me in Oct when I bought my Ram.
Me too. Sold my 2018 F-150 XLT Sport (2.7 EB) and bought 2020 Lone Star Night Edition (basically same model as yours just in Diamond Black Crystal). Lovin it. Get your wallet ready for more mods 😂. Absolute best truck for mods.
Wouldn’t go any higher than 3.5” lift. It’s the perfect amount of lift for our Rams, maintaining that Ram quality ride without sacrificing suspension issues/ride quality. Go for it. RL 3.5” SST lift with Bilstein ride height adjustable shocks is the sh**!
Def take a hit on MPGs. Down to 13’s now 😩 but I get stopped all the time with new Ram owners (particularly Big Horn/Lone Star owners) inquiring about my setup.
Have a ‘20 and it does do this odd thing like it has mind of its own and reads ambient temp inside truck vs the actual setting (eg in morning at startup, even though ac’s set to on, if it’s colder outside system blows hot air)...Other than that, it seems to just take longer to cool than other...
