Mine does it constantly, but a little forward pressure always gets it to release on the first try. Pretty sure the right-side latching stud is the culprit, but I've been too lazy to fuss with it. I'll go adjust it now and report back after I'm done.
Just to follow up on this, I don't leave the pad on my truck if I'm not using it – I just throw the pad on the floor behind the back seats and it's always within reach whenever I need it. The Dakine has a nice, almost chamois-like material on the side that contacts the paint, so I never worry...
The fit is perfect IMO. Doesn't need to cover the entire tailgate, as the front wheel makes contact in the top third of the pad. It might look a little ****-eyed to the right if you look at the top of the tailgate, but that's just because I threw it on quickly to take the photo (I don't leave it...
I also have the Dakine DLX curve (large, 59") and in my research it fits the contour of the RAM tailgate the best of all the other options. In full disclosure, I do not have the rambox, so you might consider the small (55") if your tailgate is narrower to offset the added width of the boxes...
No loss of ride heights in my testing – the truck was able to move between the four settings without issue. I spoke with Randy at Revel who advised I order the RP6 kit and specify in the customer notes that I wanted rear lowering links instead. It was a very cut and dry process and Randy was...
I installed my links over the weekend and wanted to share my objectives along with a few thoughts:
Rebels with the factory air bags are a curious beast. While I like the promise of adding a spacer to preserve the factory ride quality, I'm disinclined to make a difficult to reverse modification...
Thanks for sharing the end result. I'm planning to do the same with my Rebel – raise the front .5" and lower the rear .75 - 1". Not aiming for a perfect level; just need to settle down that factory rake a bit. Also not planning to install the Daystar spacer because I want the flexibility to...
I installed a B2 oval (moderate) muffler and 5" tips last week and the sound is exactly what I was looking for. I was worried that it would not be aggressive enough; however, had I gone with anything more rowdy it would have been a major mistake. If I want to hear the Hemi roar, I just open the...
Here's my truck:

And I sold the wheels a few weeks ago :)
Thinking of maybe doing a lift and graduating to 35's at some point in the future. Curious to know (attempted searching, but came up short as I often do) – if I were to swap out my factory air bags for a coil setup, would I be able to deactivate the air ride system altogether using this...
Following up, my wheels arrived and were installed on Friday. The tire shop had no issue mounting them and the rims made it convenient for them to use adhesive lip weights on the inside edge of the wheel to easily clear the calipers. I'm so very stoked on the look which provides a bit more...
I have the XD 143 RG3 on order from my local tire shop and XD's site says they will fit the 5th gen RAM. They should be in after the holiday week and I will report back whether they're a fit or not. Already anticipating balancing weight collision with the calipers, but the boys at the local tire...
