Don't know about the air ride or existing wiring, but I removed my AAD and AGS when I changed the grill/bumper/skid plate and had to remove them from the PCM with AlfaOBD to get rid of the CELs... So there IS a way to turn it on through AlfaOBD.
They are Moog BJs. I understand the "random" failure, but I haven't found a single person (including the tech at BDS) that has ever seen one snap/shear without some serious direct impact... If the bent frame was putting THAT much tension on something, you'd think it would've drove or sat weird...
BDS was pretty straightforward... Broke the ball joint? We'll send you a new one. No BS.
The shop is still standing by the idea that the frame is bent and that may be increasing the shear load on BJ... Headed to a frame shop later this week to see what they say. If the -ish really hits the fan...
Welcome aboard. I do a TON of work in the downtown areas (LOTS of parking structures) and between my 6" lifted 1500 and my RAM 2500 4x4 work truck, I come across very few instances that are impossible. Quite a few these days have spots they reserve for big trucks/work trucks/etc.
BJs were definitely greased at install... The shop is an authorized dealer and they seem to know what's up. I talked to a few different people about what shop to use around here and they all gave these guys a thumbs up. BDS is willing to cover their part, and their part only, as per the fine...
Pretty hard to tell what failed initially... Both upper and lower BJs are snapped/sheared which is pretty insane in itself. We'll see what they come back with.
From what I can tell in the pouring rain, a ball joint snapped, snowball effect from there. Buh-bye CV, tie rod, end links, brake lines, blah, blah, blah.
Couple of updates:
Got the RAM and chrome strips off the doors
Baja Designs fogs, Hella floods, and Westin 20" all wired and rockin'
Puddle lights installed along bottom of running boards, switched by a relay triggered by the footwell lights
Blacked out the 1500 logos on the hood
Rides...
I waited over 2 months for the BDS kit to come in, got it installed right at Thanksgiving, got everything re-torqued right after Christmas, and snapped it right after New Years. BDS is supposed to be fantastic with warranty stuff, we'll find out tomorrow. And the real kicker... I wasn't getting...
Not romping it hard, literally flipped a U turn in a rutted dirt lot and got the *** end a little loose. Then she stopped moving... Ball joint blew, which let the spindle fall, which let the CV shear/snap, which railed the lower ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar links, etc...
Calling BDS in...
Between the Pulsar in Performance mode and the 37's, MPG is averaging 12... But I'm told I drive with a heavy foot. When I'm dropping $9 or 10k on lifts/wheels/and 37's, MPG isn't really part of the equation for me anymore. Still rubs when you have the wheel cranked and I'm on it and bouncing...
Just got the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s, and they might be the quietest AT I've ever been on. LOTS of rain in the PNW and so far they stick GREAT. We've got the Toyo Open Country II on the wife's Duramax 2500 and they slip a lot more than the Nittos in the rain.
