Went to get a second opinion today. Shop foreman described the problem before I did. He had a conversation with a second person yesterday about the same thing. He told me that this was, unfortunately, all in the way the trucks are programmed. They are programmed to run a higher gear than it...
I got the recommendation from someone to pay more attention to the RPMs when the vibration is occurring. In doing so, I noticed that when cruising along through town at light to normal throttle, the truck tends to try and hold around 1,000 RPMs in 5th, 6th, 7th gears. It may be just slightly...
I’ll keep you updated. I’m regretting not getting the 5.7. I’m convinced my problem is definitely a driveline issue. TC, driveshaft, or u joint is where I’m leaning. I did turn off the hill assist and didn’t notice much difference so far, if any.
It's a been a few weeks since the updates to my PCM and TCM. Throttle response is still better than before and jerky feel to the drive is mostly gone. Really, my only complaint is the vibration i'm still experiencing at some speeds. It's hard to describe too. There is a quick vibration at around...
An update on this. I got my truck back today. Even though the dealer said it could not duplicate aany of the problems (cold start idle vibration, 1-2 shift hesitation, clunky transmission, bucking/surging after slowing and accelerating, and vibration at 20 to 25 mph only at gears higher than 5)...
@jtothecruz
do you see a hesitation on the tach too? Check out this video I took of it. You can see the tach drops after already shifting to 2nd. After the shift, the rpm start to increase, hesitate and drop slightly, then continue increase.
move noticed it does happen less during heavy...
I got my 3.6l 4x4 about 8,000 miles ago. After a few hundred miles, I noticed a “hesitation” in second gear. It is more prevalent in in light to medium throttle. The truck also developed a vibration at idle on cold start that eventually smooths out after warmup. The Hesitation comes in the...
If I’m not mistaken, the etorque replaces the traditional alternator. I listened to a 5.7 today with etorque at the dealership and it also had a noise. It actually sounded worse than my 3.6 but not quite as loud. As far as the odd hesitation, the tech rode with me and we experienced it a couple...
Just an update..over two months later the dealership has finally taken a look at the vehicle. The speaker was replaced, but they don’t seem be sure if the noise on startup and weird shift is normal. They also can’t seem to get a truck in the same configuration to compare. I’ve opened a RamCares...
I feel I should also mention, as I have in another post that there is a high pitched whine on all cold starts that lasts until the truck idles down to normal idle RPM. I have reported this to my dealer along with occasional odd “bumps” that are very slight while cruising at highway speeds. They...
I am experiencing a vibration and sound when driving slowly and in 5th gear. If I’m driving slowly, kind of babying the gas, I hit 5th gear around 25 mph. If I’m holding 25 mph I feel a vibration and hear a sound if I accelerate up to about 30. It diminishes. If I’m accelerating normally or on...
Thanks for the response. My dealer seems to dismiss things too soon as “normal.” My intentions here are to see if anyone else is experiencing these “normal” behaviors.
I’m posting this in the general forum because I have had many different issues with only 2k miles on my new truck.
First problem was that the truck has had a very clunky feeling transmission. Erratic shifts, making driving for first 1500 miles unpleasant. I’ll have to say, the last 500 miles or...
