Agreed to be careful with carfax..but im in the camp where its helped me often. Im fastidious about keeping my vehicles up to date on it, and my dealership does as well. Ive used it as a bargaining chip to get higher trade values nearly every vehicle ive traded for years. Just like any other...
How are these still treating ya? Im looking at 2500s but i may nit be able to get one unless the perfect deal materializes. So im wondering if the xhds and adding 1/2in to the front will scratch my itch. The reason for the 1/2in lift up front would be to offset the added lift in the rear since...
And @Davidbt
I was thinking the SAME thing…accept they’re ugly as sin IMO 🤦♂️ im unappeasable …I demand an inexpensive 2500 that has the back seat space as my 1500 but looks like a 2500 and has a tire thats good in all situations and still looks aggressive, all while getting 25mpg.
I had to rent a few trucks this summer while mine was in the body shop and drove a 2500 for a few weeks. After driving it for a little while I really like the stance and just the way the truck drives overall, even compared to the 1500. The power and the towing were very similar between the two...
These last couple comments, combined with my kids saying they felt less room in the back, are pretty much the last nail in the coffin for this truck. The search continues.
Though id still love hear from anyone with experience towing with their kiddos in the back seat of a 2500.
Whats amazing is that while looking at 2500s today my wife asked about chevy/gm/ford HDs. I told her i didn’t trust the chevys or fords after having them as work trucks, and GMs are still crazy expensive used. Ill add this bit of info as the cherry on top of my concerns with chevy/gm.
Ty for the input. I left off some details because i didnt want to muddy the waters all too much. Added options are very subjective and not where my concern is at the moment. But suffice it to say that the truck is option exactly how I want, but im also concerned with all that rust. I will add...
I have this posted on the HD forum as well. But its “awaiting approval before going public” and has been for over an hour…so i wanted to drop it here as well. Any insight is appreciated

New to this forum, but im a current 1500 owner. Im looking into possibly buying a used 2500 and want...
not my area of expertise but I can say that the hellwig I have in the rear is amazing. I have considered one for the front just because I can. I suspect you will be pleased buy it. I just this week added core 4x4 endlinks with the appropriate height for my rear end lift and they helped make the...
Sorta found an answer to where to lift the body from..but im going to need a second lift or maybe I can just rest the body on jack stands….either way i think its best to either lift from the B pillar area or from the front and rear at the same time so I don’t torque the body around.
Replaced my swaybar bushings today and during the test drive I felt just the slightest clunk. I’m really hoping it was just things sort of reseating, but if the clunk remains I’m going to go with the body mount route.
I did also tighten my A and B pillar mount bolts and found that all four...
Busy-ish day with stuff
- tightened the A and B pillar body mounts to 90ft/lbs. all four had a half to nearly a full turn until torqued 😳
—> i also discovered that despite having a 2023, I still have what are considered the “old” body mount lowers… Makes me wonder if the upper body mounts are...
Installed the core 4x4 rear sway bar end links. They put my sway bar back in the proper alignment, which should help make the hellwig evident again after i added the 5100s. These are for 1in of lift, which i got in the rear after i added the cargomax springs
Its a bit of a COLD day..26 while i...
