I have a 2019 1500 crew Laramie Sport 5.7L hemi non e-torque, 11/9/18 build. Currently have about 8900 miles on it (bought it with 20 miles on it 12/23/18). I recently noticed (within the last 800 miles or so) that my truck does this "bump" "wrapping" thing when I come to a stop or take off...
For what its worth, I have now driven my truck a week after getting it back, a couple hundred miles this week, and not one hiccup after fluid top off/TSB software update. I do believe at this time that was the fix for my truck. Hopefully it helps other people. Thanks for all of the...
Hopefully your dealership tech checks the fluid and you get the most recent software update (I would assume so). My service dept wanted to do those two steps first before replacing the VB....they said they didn't think FCA would approve a VB replacement before those two steps completed. But...
***UPDATE ****
Been driving my truck most of the day, many stops, turn off/turn on, P to D scenarios, smooth as butter. I was having an instance almost every day. I know its first day, but so far it all feels the way it should.
Here is what they did according to service record:
TSB...
My truck went in last Thursday. They called me friday and said my trans fluid was 3/4 quart low, and there was a trans software update released 1/9/19, which they have done and topped of fluid. I am picking it up this morning and fingers crossed these two items are all it needed. Only time...
I am truthfully trying to understand how my safety could be affected by the P to D issue. Literally, I am in a parking spot, putting it into D, it doesn't go, so I select R then to D and drive away. It takes like 3 seconds. If there is a scenario you have been in where your safety was...
My truck stickers for $66k on the lot, and I don't have any of these defects that Paulny speaks of. My sunroof drains are connected, I have had numerous downpours in the last month here in Oregon, not a trace of water. I have been thru the carwash a couple of times, no issues. I have no...
Paulny, I am eager to see how it goes for you....mine gets dropped off next Thursday for formal diagnosis, and any info I can provide them on a fix will help get it resolved quickly. My truck does this at least once a day. I am currently at 670 miles one the odo.
Mine stopped doing it for a few days, I was excited now that I am over 500 miles......thought it resolved itself.....then left work today and it did it twice during my stops on my way home, one time when going into D it kind of jerked into gear without me accelerating. Eager to find out if the...
And to clarify, your issue is also the P to D no-movement in addition to some rough shifting? My transmission is smooth and no concerns other than the intermittent P to D no-go. I am very eager to see if this takes care of it, so I can share this with my service center.
Hallelujah! Just picked up my truck today after an informal “look” at my concerns and they have rescheduled me to 1/24 for drop off for thorough diagnosis, the service dept told me that likely it would be a new transmission. I am so hopeful that it’s just a valve body, because they told me...
I only have been on level ground when it has happened, so I wouldn't be able to distinguish between park pawl hangup or a clutch not engaging. When I back into my driveway, it is an incline where the front end is higher than the rear. It happened once that time, and the truck didn't roll as I...
Cold or warm. I back in when parking almost everywhere I go, so when I go, it’s P to D and sometimes it’s flawess and sometimes it doesn’t engage. I am just under 400 miles when I dropped it off at dealer this morning. Whenever I go from P to R then to D it’s never done it, only when P to D...
AGREED.....The fact that both of your trucks had issues, does not build confidence. My thought on the reason so many of us are experiencing this, is like it has been said in this thread, this valve body is a new version for the ZF 8 speed. So we are all the mules with the first gen...
I can understand your frustration. I fortunately haven't experienced any of the quality control issues that you have outside the shifting into D issue. The marijuana smell I think is just the new materials off gassing. I may not be sensitive enough to the smell to let it bother me. I...
So good news and some concerning news. Today it did not have the symptoms it has had all week, but now when it has sat for an hour or more, the initial shift into D it jerks forward. The first time it did it this morning, fortunately I was far enough away from the object in front of me that I...
