Exclusive auto with recirculate. Start it at 65 - 67. Incrementally tick it up to end up with it at 69-72, depending on weather/ length of drive as it becomes too cold.
No hack. Works well.
Agreed. Dooes the split tailgate come on long beds too? Has anyone seen one? If so, I'd expect the brackets to be beefier, as the potential lever arm (bed side) would be longer. Or I guess they could have built them for the long bed and put them on both, basically over engineering the...
I understand. But the point is I don't have one, and why would I buy one to confirm what I know is already working perfectly fine for my family and me?
If I run into one somewhere, I'll be glad to contribute though.
Got out to the river this evening with the wife and kids. Here's some close ups of the setup with one j hook per kayak.
Wide angle
Fore of kayak against cab
Fore of kayak supported by truck bed surface
Fore of kayak held tight to cab through scupper holes. (All straps used were included...
Send me a thermometer and I'll give you a reading. Otherwise, no need. Truck baked in the heat from noon to 4 p.m. today. I was dripping sweat after 10 minutes of loading kayaks in the back. After a change into dry clothes, the wife, three kids in carseats across the back and myself set off...
South Texas here, roughly 60% humidity regularly. Have seen temps up to 117 in my Ram after leaving it in the sun all day. Crack the windows initially to let the hot air out and am comfortable within 5 minutes set on auto 67.
Laramie 12" NAV here. Came with the updated Uconnect version. Everything works flawless. Someone else mentioned this, but don't discount the notion that the problem is actually your specific dealer knowing squat about how to actually fix your problems. Hope it all gets sorted out quickly for you!
Replaced the hardware with the metric carriage bolts and original knobs that came with the j hooks. Really made everything easier to get cinched tight. The angle on the bed extender aligns to the contour of the kayaks.
For what it's worth, here's a teardown of one of the NOCO GB150.
And a demonstration of the same starting a 7.3 L diesel engine with the battery completely disconnected.
I agree that the battery provided calculated cold cranking amps is definitely not up to snuff of what these booster...
I've got two 13.5' tandem kayaks that I haul. Just got my metric carriage bolts in to complete this set up (local stores didn't carry them long enough to span the bed extender). This will allow me to use the turning knobs that came with the j hooks. In the meantime I subbed a 5/16 carraige...
Well, I got to thinking....if I blow up, that means my Ram is probably going to blow up too. And that would really be a shame.
Returned the original to China, spent $40 extra bucks and switched to this. Just so happened to be an all day prime deal today.

Im always a touch skeptical, but not too worried. Reviews from same manufacturer/seller on older larger product where much more widespread positive. My ultimate hope is to never have to use the thing. I can justify $50 for a portable charger/ emergency light.
If I ever do have to use it, I...
Anybody have a favorite or cautionary tale? I dropped $3.90 on this guy today, after a $10 Amazon coupon and $50 credit for using Discover cash back to pay a portion of it.

Haven't taken mine in yet. AC works great, and I don't want the dealer "fixing" (read: breaking) something when I don't have clarity on the front end about what the correct fill level should be.
Not to burst your bubble, but none of the other rebates (conquest, USAA, PenFed) stacked with the select inventory rebate in June. I'm pretty sure the dealer is shooting you straight here.
