I have the ORP as well and would LOVE to see the outcome without the pre-load spacer installed. I would never run a pre-load spacer, so I'm wondering if it would drastically change the overall lift height that much. I like a little rake in my trucks anyway, post pics after your install...
I keep seeing posts about how sh!tty the ride is after installing the 3.5 Rough Country lift. It's 100% caused by the pre-load style spacer under the top hat sandwiched between the spring. I would stick the top-hat style spacer to retain the factory ride quality, unless you don't care about...
Did you find the issue? I would think it's your UCA making contact with your coil spring (at full droop) with the way you described the metallic "click." Wondering what you found...
I saw a TSB on this recently when I was looking through them for another issue. I think it said there was an "update" they would flash to the computer on the truck.
Something about the power delivery module IIRC. Sorry for being kinda vague, hopefully it points you in the right direction though.
Just ran across this TSB and I think this perfectly describes what I hear. Rattling metal from the support bows in the headliner. Maybe it will help someone out that has the same issue as me.
Service contract? Now that seems a little egregious.
Is it like "hey you brought us unknown tire/wheel combo that we are trusting the tire size you gave us"
or is it like
"we must do any/all future work to this vehicle for warranty to remain valid"
???
275/65R20 is a 34” tire
275/60R20 is a 33” tire
From what I see (Big Horn Crew Short bed) any bigger than 33” and your gonna make contact on the sway bar and receiver hitch. I’ll measure it at some point for actual numbers, I just didn’t feel like dropping the spare for a true measurement.
It...
OK, good news and bad news.
Good news is that there is room to fit up to a 33” diameter tire in the spare cavity. If you run a 33x12.50 as a spare(or 305/55R20), she’s gonna hang lower because of the additional 2” width of the tire.
Bad news is 35” is a bridge too far. From the receiver hitch...
I was wondering the same thing. Makes no sense to me that I upgrade the tires to go off-road, but then have to rely on that dinky spare if I get a flat. I'm rotating my tires today, I'm gonna see what I need to do to make a 33x1250 fit under there if at all.
I did see where someone posted a...
Got an email from Debbie and she already called the dealer and paved the way for me to get the correct ORP springs! She was able to see the case I opened and ran with it. She said she got some push-back from the service department, but in the end she had them order the correct parts. Would...
I've heard the dealer can recalibrate it, but I can't confirm that for 5th gens. Honestly, I'd rather pay a couple hundred bucks for the dealer to recalibrate than to get a programmer that does the same thing (and have to undo it every time you bring it in.)
My neighbor got a 2018 and had his...
Did you recalibrate your speedo and all that for the new tire size? Might be why you saw such an MPG dip. Might try the “Fuelly” app and see if it’s off
New “employee pricing for all” for Big Horns through November for RAMs Black Friday deals. I built a BTS in the website for like $7K under MSRP with like $2K in rebates too
Tell your friends to check it out, I know I have a couple that want one now after seeing mine.
I’ve heard that the 6112s are better than the 5100s and I loved how much better THEY were from stock. I can only imagine how great they would ride over the factory “Hitachi” OR shocks.
I loved my duratracs, but didn’t like the hum until they proved how capable they were. After that the hum was...
Preesh. Yeah, I get that. Honestly the dude wants to make sure he doesn’t flop $1200 on tires just to find out he can’t turn anymore lol. I’ve scoured through the posts here and there is some monster sized tires some guys are running.
For real though, I’d definitely be comfortable going 35/12.50...
I would stick to 2.5” max. Any more and then your outside the factory geometry angles. Then your chasing the dragon with UCAs, additional puck spacers, custom length springs, etc.
The common answer to go bigger is the ~6” lift kits with the sub frame mount and all that jazz. Problem is you end...
Who TF said it was impossible? There’s like 400 on this site, half of them claim zero rub on stock suspension. Matter of fact, I saw one with 37s and he didn’t even have to trim the factory mud flaps
That’s awesome! Thanks for the heads up on the module and housing against the rear panel, that’s gonna be the first things I do before adding the dynomat. Might save me some rattle-hunting in the future.
