This is exactly why I think that the PCV valve dumping crankcase fumes into the intake is causing the issue. To me, it makes sense if it’s oil vapor getting introduced at WOT when the intake is drawing through the PCV pipe. I don’t hear anything abnormal or remotely clacky until I open her up...
I narrowed down ALL the rattling in my cab to two places 1) rear cab wall behind the seat and 2) headliner support bows between the headliner and cab.
Rear cab: after removing the rear seat (larger section only) I slid some double sided foam tape behind a module that had some play in the...
Mine has done it since day one. It cuts the driver side speakers off, even with the map directions muted. It gets stuck like that and I gotta reconnect my iPhone to get it back to normal. I never use it because of that. Google maps doesn’t do any of that.
Really annoying
That’s what I needed to hear. I’m ordering an oil catch can, I’m hoping that solves the problem. Based on others, seems like the blow by gasses can really mess with the air/fuel intake
I’m gonna use Costco premium only from now on and see if the pinging noises come back. If I hear it come back I’m gonna get it tuned and hopefully get the timing dialed in.
I had 1.5 wheel spacers on my last truck and went to discount tire for my duratracs. They rotated my tires and even checked to make sure my spacers were torqued.
Funny you mentioned Costco gas. I thought I tried all different brands and could have sworn I tried Costco 93 trying to hunt gas to eliminate the pinging.
I filled up with 93 at Costco this weekend and haven’t heard as much as a tap from the engine. She purrs and I’ve opened her up a few times...
Great answer by the shop owner! Say NO to preload spacers. He said that because you’ll be back in a week blaming him for the sh!tty ride quality. That dude’s been down that road lol
I’m a huge fan of the AT3Ws myself. I looked at them online and I think it said they were 70lbs a piece, report back how they are if you get them. Curious about feeling the tire weight with acceleration and if it’s really that noticeable.
I keep seeing cracked manifolds being reported here, I hate to think that might be what I hear. I have zero experience with the sounds so I don’t know.
So I’m not sure if “pinging” is the right description, but I do hear something that sounds like that when I open it up. It sounds like sporadic “tinking” when I’ve got it to the floor.
I know that octane, gas quality, and cold/hot engine temps have an effect on this. I use Shell 93 octane...
I leased mine. Sticker was $51.6K.
Invoice was 46K, I got $10K in rebates and rolled $2K in from my trade. $36K out the door leased for 48 months at $425/mo
For me, paying half the monthly payment for a lease versus financing it for $800-900 made more sense. Even if I’m over mileage at the...
I’m in the Army so I guess you could say I work for a “large organization” lol. Unfortunately, the military discount was $500 so I had to work for a deal. Most dealers I talked to about the built to serve RAMs treated them like the new TRXs and wouldn’t even budge from MSRP. I had to get the GM...
It limits your selections to only 2 pages while your driving. Same thing for google maps, it won’t let you type in the keyboard while your rolling.
Once you’re stopped you should have full usability of all pages, features, etc. I use Amazon music every day
Just talked to the RAM dealer here in Ohio (fleet manager) and he’s got 10 at employee pricing. The dude’s selling these under invoice, which from my experience is unheard of.
I’m working a deal for my buddy to get an anvil right now. Here’s his info for anyone looking in Ohio or willing to make...
