I can recommend fabtech 3" lift as a way to increase clearance, along with 35" tires. Rides great.
Still working on a tow solution including airbags. I'm constantly tweaking, lol.
Anyone have experience with this Airlift product on a mild lift? Recently installed Fabtech suspension with 3” up front and 1.5” in rear. Truck is effectively level now, and I want to avoid sag when pulling my trailer. Timbrens aren’t really an option, as I’d like to keep open travel while...
It does. I took it for a 30 mile drive just after install, and was disappointed. Couldn’t drink from my cup of coffee while in motion, lol.
I also think it was slightly better today. I’m hoping it settles down even more. Initial thoughts is that I may need to increase the preload on front...
For what it’s worth, I had to wait three months to get my kit from Fabtech. Everyone is affected by supply chain issues right now. Took us five months to get a Peloton.
Just did both sides this weekend. Sprayed some penetrating solution in the joint and let it work for 15 minutes. Then a sledge hammer and about a dozen swear words. It wasn’t easy, but persistence paid off.
Just finished my install this weekend, including an upsize to 35” tires. About 8 hours work over two days. UCA ball joints were a real PITA to decouple, but a lot of WD40, a sledge, and some swear words got it done.
A few pics, including before and after. Install experience is fresh, so...
That's not acceptable. My nav and compass were doing exactly as you describe. You shouldn't be waiting for an update...your system is jacked up and they need to fix it. I'd pitch a fit.
Getting my kit in a couple of weeks. I’m pretty handy with DIY, and have a helper. I don’t have a spring compressor or a press. Ok to do myself, or should I find a shop?
I’m on third trip to dealership in a month trying to get a bricked unit resolved. Brought it in initially because compass was off by 90 degrees. They bricked it when they were “fixing” it.
They ordered a new unit, installed it last week, and about half the stuff wouldn’t work. No backup...
@Alxmlr789 - I figured 2” spacer would give me a total of 3” due to taller spring. Not sure about shock though. If existing shock is tuned for an inch already, how would new shock be properly set for 3”?
@spaightlabs - yeah Mopar says this lift isn’t compatible with Rebel, probably because...
Newbie with (probably) stupid question. I have the ORP, which has a one inch lift, which I gather the is achieved over non ORP trucks with slightly longer spring and shock strut.
So two inch lift would result in a one inch gain over my stock setup?
I couldn’t believe the amount below sticker that dealer was willing to offer me on the Ram, and the amount he gave me on trade in for the taco. It was a no brainer financially, for the upgrade I got in terms of capabilities and driving experience.
Toyota has been cutting basic features for...
I spent a ton of time customizing my '14 Taco, and it was sweet, but I wanna buy a boat in next couple of years. 2019 Laramie Quad Cab off road.
Time to get busy on mods! Looking forward to the new adventure.
