mine did that after I got a sprayed in bedliner, the disconnect and connect played havok.. make sure the wires did not get damaged from the tailgate to the bed

Looks like one would use a little Right Stuff on the third brake light would seal it.

this is my 4th ram, love it, had 2 recalls, got them taken care of. will replace the brake pads when needed, and I do all my own maintenance, and I can keep track on what needs to be changed or modified. good luck..
