So I will probably never tow more than about 5,000 pounds and the two main highways I take to my cottage have speed limits of 80 Km/H meaning you set it at 90 and 100Km/H meaning you set it at 119. Which rear end would you say is best for me?
I might have missed this in this very good, but pages long, thread but what type of fuel savings are we talking about in terms of 3.21 over 3.92? I would never tow anything over 4,000 lbs., because I'm just not that confident in my ability and would hire someone. More to the point, my boat...
Cool thanks guys. Have any of you compared ride quality of the coil sprung 1500 Ltd to the AS LTD? Like literally same truck versus exact same truck just one with coils the other with AS.
So my way of thinking is: the tailgate I can easily retrofit myself, the sunroof is a factory option or nothing. For the AS I think it's like a factory option that if it breaks in 5 years I would simply opt for the full repair in liue of not checking off Ramboxes or other tech options. "Scap" I...
I'm an outgoing Audi owner. I wanted to know what you more experienced truck owners think about 3 options: the panoramic sunroof, the air suspension [keeping in mind that Toronto isn't as cold as Calgary...not even slightly...but it is still colder than all major US cities] and the ram boxes? I...
Could this be one of them systems that actually benefits from use like a sunroof? Seem to notice, an admittedly loose, connection between guys that really pile on the weight [no issues] versus the guys that just leave them sitting around for days [more issues?] that sound right?
Actually one follow up is the tires? So I don't actually know this as I'm currently [and hopefully not that much longer] an Audi owner but my car is pretty quiet...I'll give it that. So is it fair to say that a Limited would be much quieter than the Rebel because of the smoother road tires...
I noticed that when I spec out a Rebel with all the options [main must haves for me are: the air suspension, the luxury group of the high end stereo, 12 inch monitor, the massive sun roof, high end leather steering wheel and for me the ram boxes} the price isn't far from what Limited models...
I agree with the fuel comment...use what it says to use in the manual period. But as a follow up...how hard would it be for me to bolt on I guess new or better designed bolts to the exhaust manifold if I cross the warranty? Assume this is a matter of getting underneath it and having a flexible...
I sometimes wonder about the impact of termperature. Like aren't pistons made out of forged steel? How much of a reduction in piston diameter could even the coldest evening cause the following morning?
Ok that's kind of what I thought. So this exhaust manifold coming undone thing is more what the fact that you have a steel bolt and an aluminum manifold interacting and when you get moisture in there it corrodes? So could I not simply solve this issue by retrofitting a more suitable bolt on or...
I'm an Audi owner looking at the Ram 1500. I like the 5.7 engine for my own reasons but what I learned was that these engines were prone to some type of failure at 100,00km where I believe the exhaust manifold became detached from the engine block causing a chattering sound. First off is this...
And one other question is are the steel/coil spring versions of these better than the offerings from Ford or GM, or was it the air ride that made them better? Like I thought this was the only truck that has 4 independent coils vs leafs out back.
