I will probably end up giving it a shot anyway but idk. Might be a shortage thing. Or a Uconnect 5 thing. Who knows. It's probably worth getting for tweaking a handful of other settings (and you can recalibrate your speedo for bigger tires with it too, right?). Just don't want to spend $100+...
May be worth a shot. But I'm still a little freaked out by this member who tried to turn it on and it didn't work.
Maybe @Rebel2022 can chime in here...
Yeah I'm missing it entirely (not listed on my BS, or my WS). My bed lights come on when I open the tailgate, not sure if my cargo lights do as I've yet to open it at night without already having turned on the cargo lights manually myself (so I'll have to test that). But it looks like whatever...
Anyone else completely missing this on their (2022) truck? I was reading about how people didn't have this active from the factory and were using AlfaOBD to turn it on. Then I saw a comment from someone who said this didn't work on their MY2022. So I double-checked my build sheet and sure...
I was moving toward that method but learned that there's a decent chance I would have to trim the bolts that stick out of the air suspension canisters in order for the Daystar spacers to fit, so I'm gonna try this instead...
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Sticks out a little more too without having to use spacers/offset.
Once my level is done and my current tires are worn down some I will probably go for Toyo AT3's in 305.
I thought about swapping wheels down to 20 (or in even 18) but idk. Kind of a hassle...
Problem with 22's is 285/45 and 305/45 are basically it for XL tires. You want a sidewall ratio over 45 you gotta go LT, which will most likely more than cancel out any ride comfort increase you get from the bigger sidewall.
If you have other reasons you want LT tires then it doesn't matter.
I noticed a similar sound to this the other day, did someone say it's more likely to happen if your truck has sat for a couple of days?
I wasn't worried cause I couldn't hear it in the cab unless my window was open, and even then it was pretty faint. Only standing outside my truck near the engine.
Yeah, I was interested in turning off the fog light drop out, as well as turning on the option to have the sideview mirrors go in and out when you turn the truck on and off. Can you do the latter with this, or do you need a Tazer for that?
Okay, so with this, the truck's wires get unplugged, then get plugged into this (the ECRI), and the the scanner also gets plugged into this...?
edit: thanks for the link to the pic btw, that will be very helpful.
Where the heck is our security gateway plug?
edit: just read your edited post haha, thank you!
And how the hell do they get away with charging $120 for something that's essentially the same as this other $20 scanner? Or is there some significant difference between the two?
Interesting. Why do you need the security bypass cables with this module? I'm assuming the larger end of the cable goes into the diagnostics port, and the other end goes into the module (as opposed to connecting the module directly to the port)?
If I have to do it myself, I can get this...
https://www.amazon.com/OBDLink-Bluetooth-Professional-Grade-Diagnostic-Performance/dp/B07JFRFJG6?ref_=ast_sto_dp
Hook it up to the diagnostics port under where the emergency brake is, and then download the android app, link up, and I'm good to go...
Yeah, apparently I was imagining things, I have no such option, and don't get the ajar warning. This seems like a pretty dangerous oversight. Gonna go yell at my dealer.
Yeah, I remember seeing it in there somewhere but it was already checked so I quickly moved on. However, I drove a short distance at low speed (like 10mph I think) with it open one time and didn't get a warning. Maybe have to go over a certain speed, or be moving for a certain amount of time...
