Haha epic name for the truck. As another user already reported, their answer will be it's normal, or within tolerance (dare I say like the AC) and we're just going to have to accept it. Since the introduction of the 4th gen Ram's sales have skyrocketed, and it was certainly deserving. They...
After watching the 2 videos in this thread and reading the various comments I'm convinced that the chirp that I'm experiencing is totally different. Mine only started a few months ago so I thought it was cold related. I certainly don't need the windows down to hear it either. Every bump I go...
Because I'm not currently on good terms with my local dealer (long story) I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of saying no to me about the PIN. Luckily, I'm happy enough with just 2 keyfobs so I don't really need it. There's also an android app that can supposedly pull the PIN for you. It's...
Actually, apparently you can. I haven't done it myself but supposedly all you need is the PIN number of your truck from your dealer. Word on the street is some dealers will give it to you no problem while others will not.
In AlfaOBD, you do go under "body computer". Once in there you select "car configuration change". If my memory serves me correctly there were 2 different things you need to check. One is ECUConfig 4: Tailgate Ajar Indication. This was already selected as "yes" for me so I left it as is. The...
Yeah that's a different issue than we're all having and a weird one at that. If your truck remote starts and runs for 10 seconds than the remote start is doing its job I would think. No idea what would cause that to happen.
Honestly dude, AlfaOBD is super easy to use. There's plenty of YouTube videos out there that can guide you if needed but I hardly think it's needed. The hardest part of the process is disconnecting the 2 SGW cables which, I admit, was a little scary at first but quickly becomes second nature. I...
I went through the same thing. It lists the feature on the build sheet and yet the truck doesn't have it, dealer gives you a BS story bla bla bla. I enabled it with AlfaOBD. My dealer also changed my tow mirrors to sport mirrors and couldn't get the power fold function to work, then they told me...
I did notice the battery voltage while driving only reaching 13.5V just one time, and I thought that was weird. For the last couple of weeks mine has been steady at 14.7 14.8V while driving. Since I replaced my battery I only had 1 failed remote start at home and that was the day after I...
No sir, my fob was sitting in my backpack on the backseat the whole time and it happened a second time roughly 5 minutes later. I tried to manually turn off the flashers but all that did was change the flashing frequency. This was pure voodoo!
Was this for me? If so, I changed my stock battery to an Odyssey 94R AGM battery over a week ago. Unfortunately, the very next day the truck wouldn't remote start either. I have been checking and I do have an intermittent parasitic drain. Sometimes I check and I have nothing (20mA) sometimes I...
Just an update, I haven't had any remote start issues for about a week now. I disabled some features like headlights on for 30 seconds when the truck is off, basically anything that uses power I turned off. I doubt that was my issue though. I experienced another odd issue this morning (not...
To be honest I never pulled every single fuse this time just a handful before my anger and frustration took over and I slammed the hood closed. When I'm off this weekend I'll pull them all one at a time including the ones under the steering wheel. I just know I'm stuck with this issue unless I...
My truck failed to remote start after work today. Never had a meter on me but according to the cluster the voltage was 11.9 volts. Got home and let it sit for a bit. Battery was reading 12.46 volts when I checked it. I measured between 1.5-1.6 amp draw again. This time pulling all the fuses did...
Good to know, I was unaware that they utilized different transfer cases for the 5th gens thanks for sharing. I have experience with both and while I do prefer the beefier (non-auto) transfer case, I had no issues or complaints with the 44-44 on my 4th gen. Maybe if I took that truck off-roading...
My issues only started recently. Our winters are usually consistently cold. Never had any issues remote starting all winter in whatever temperature. I did find a parasitic draw from fuse F38 the other day.
Jimmy, for fuse F38 DTCM / Active CL Temp VLV, do you have any idea what valve they're...
Agreed. My truck remote started perfectly fine all winter only acting up in the last 2 weeks. Putting a trickle charger on for a little while allows the truck to remote start no problem.
