Well here's an update I managed to get a good enough fitment to call it good and avoid going to a muffler shop. I removed the inside rear muffler hanger and gently used a prybar to move the muffler inward a bit. I clear the passenger side suspension bump stop by about a half an inch now. Still...
If you're looking for opinions I'll certainly give you mine as I'm pretty much in the same situation as you. If they gave me that choice (and I hope they do) I would most definitely take it to a shop and get the pros to take care of it. Probably won't take them that long and that sure beats...
That sounds like a very reasonable solution. My issues aren't quite as bad as yours but if I can't get it taken care of by myself this weekend I will email Borla and ask them if I can do the same.
Agreed! There's supposed to be installation instructions included with the kit. I would be contacting them about it. There was a time when I was interested in the Naviks but now I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this device: https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/multimedia-box.33085/
He's not the only one! There's several other threads regarding some of these fitment issues on the Borla systems for the 5th gens. I just installed the Borla Touring myself on Saturday. I managed to remove the stock exhaust without cutting anything. Removed the spare tire and shroud and that...
The website says it uses the mobile Hotspot from your phone. Is that how you use it or do you use the Hotspot from your truck? I'm curious if it can work with either.
This particular unit plugs into a USB port in your vehicle and allows you to watch YouTube, Netflix, or play games, etc. Basically anything you can do on an iPhone or Android phone you can have on your uconnect screen.
Sounds like you have the anti-rattle clip squeak. Worth a try to give them a shot with some lubricant it might save you a trip to the dealer. I'm only guessing right now that mine is sway bar related but there's a good chance that's what it is.
Well glad you got it all worked out finally. I just replaced the rear stock sway bar with a Hellwig sway bar hoping that will cure my winter chirp. Sounds like the front end is a bigger issue. The front sway bar is pretty beefy compared to the back one. I will consider replacing all end links...
Well my Hellwig sway bar arrived yesterday (a day earlier than expected) and I installed it first thing this morning. Install was super easy. I think the longest part of the install was getting it out of the box (not kidding). My truck is only a couple weeks shy of being 1 year old so removing...
Funny that they call this feature "Braking Assist" when it stops the truck point blank (and hard too). The first (and only) time I experienced this was on my 2nd day of owning my truck. I was backing into a parking spot where there wasn't anything near me and the truck just locked up solid. The...
Well that's interesting info kinda makes me glad that I didn't order it from Amazon, though I'm with ya I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it. According to my tracking info mine is set to arrive on Friday and I'm really looking forward to it!
Yes I would've put some synthetic grease on it this winter. However, I ordered the Hellwig sway bar yesterday so I will most likely use my own synthetic grease on the bushings instead of the stuff they provide. Looking forward to installing the sway bar.
Awesome, that is the answer I was hoping for, thanks! I'm happy enough with the stock ride but if this makes it better that would be a bonus for me as I suspect the stock rubber bushings are causing my weird and annoying chirp during the winter months so changing the sway bar looks like win win...
