We towed for the first time last weekend. Our TT is pretty small, 19ft 4k, and it was a breeze. Some porpoising over the bumps and more squat than I'd like, but I'm pretty sure I didn't have the WDH setup perfectly.
Up in to the Sierra over 7000 ft and no problems. Freeway speeds never exceeded...
yeah, I saw those, but for my spare I figured I would try to pinch some pennies....hopefully the cost/value tradeoff doesn't bite me in the butt at some point
I just ordered a 285 70 18 to put on the spare rim. Ordered a Suretrac AT off walmart.com so we'll see how it works. I have 295 60 20s on the truck so that size seemed to be the closest I could get with the spare
I really liked the Rebel, but my offroading is usually just forest roads. I wanted a nice truck that we could go out in as well as could do what I wanted it to do up at the ranch in the hills. We have several miles of gravel road to get there and in the winter, I definitely need 4wd. Plus we do...
I have a 2" level and went with 295 60 20 on the stock rims. I get a little rub at full lock when backing up, but that's it. The 10 ply tire definitely stiffened the ride and the size/weight has affected mpg by about 2.
I'm getting 14-15 around town and 16-17 on hwy
funny, I was just having this same thought. I went with 295 60 20s and want to replace the 245 70 18 spare with something closer in size.
the price difference between a 275 70 18 and 285 70 18 is pretty significant, so was looking at the 275 to saves some $$$$.
Is a .78" that big a difference...
just read through this entire thread...amazing build you've put together. I've been looking at a campershell to replace the soft tonneau and your pictures just sealed the deal.
Some friends and I did a hut to hut mt bike trip from Telluride to Moab a few years back and those pictures look really...
I bought an inexpensive soft tri-fold off amazon (tyger) and am very happy with it.
My goals were to keep stuff out of view and protected from rain and it does both of those.
Not fancy, not really secure, but fits my needs
So, we've been working through this with the dog...we've found that when we fill the space between the front seat and the back seat, she seems happier. We bought a giant body pillow at Costco and wedge it in there. Not sure if the shorter seat in the quad cab is too small or what...
It could...
How are you aware of the issues? Can you hear/feel them or are you getting a warning light?
I have a 2" level and the tires, but can't feel/hear any issues and am not getting any alerts...
Does anyone know what size the rivnuts are? I talked to the parts guy the other day and he had no idea and didn't seem to be interested in helping me find out.
I'd like to use the holes and the rivnuts but attached a couple of quick fists for a shovel and axe. Don't need the whole bedrail system
It's funny how everyone talks about how dangerous they are. My first truck was a 68 Ford and it came with one of the metal jacks, that had a base plate and was exactly like a high lift on not as well made....back then it was normal and not "dangerous"
Hey there,
Have had the Ram for a few months now and had a question about jacking to change a tire.
I'm out in the hills quite a bit and with a leveling kit and bigger tires, the standard jack isn't going to cut it.
My son in law got me a high lift jack when I had the jeep and I've only had to...
