I re-did the thermometer test in my truck.....Earlier in the week I did the test at around 73 degrees/80% humidity and was getting 47 degrees at the driver's vents.
Well, today it was 91 degrees (40% humidity) and I was getting constant 56 degrees at the same vents at idle or while raising the...
I see what you're saying now.... I'd agree that pinching down a designed flow line in the center or somewhere along the line other than the ends may not be the best in the long run (but it would probably take many years for an issue to show up). If it were me, I wouldn't totally clamp it down...
For the sake of argument, then why are hose clamps used at hose ends all over the truck? Those hose ends are getting just as heated (maybe more so) and going through as many multiple cycles but you never see a radiator hose, heater hose, etc. end degrade or deteriorate any worse than the rest...
If they did the TSB it would have been noted on the invoice....if not, they didn't. Again, they can't do the TSB unless the truck fits the parameters of what the TSB states. FCA records all that and will not authorize it to be performed on trucks outside what they have determined the...
RamBean....No offense but not cool to sign up here as a new guy just to tell us your problem was fixed
That's an older TSB (issued Feb 2019) and you must have an earlier build truck or they wouldn't have performed the TSB on it. It only applies to trucks built after Jan 8, 2018 and before...
My theory exactly.....you have a nice NEW truck under full mfg. warranty for 3 years plus 5 years on the powertrain (and can get the extended for even more protection) which you can sell later (esp. with low mileage and if you take care of it) and get a great price. Much better than buying a...
Ok......but, we're not attempting to get a whole cabin temperature...for the most part all of the tests done here have been for temps at/inside the vents. An overall cabin reading/test would also be interesting and I can see that all vents should be open for that....but not having the rears open...
Info was upthread but it was 73 degrees and 80% humidity. We had a heat wave over the weekend with temps near 100 and truck felt perfect inside but I did not check until today.....supposed to be near 90+ by this weekend so I'll recheck.
Good to know...I'm like you...getting around 47 out the driver's vent with no modifications. I think that's probably good enough and will give more than acceptable cooling performance for me but if I ever need to, I can clamp down the hose for ultimate cooling.
Now you gotta tint the front windows, get blacked out headlights/tail lights and maybe add black body side molding in the places the Limited has the chrome trim.
LMAO! Love to see that thing when the wind picks up...oh..and the number those straps/end hooks would do on the paint when they flap and flutter around. And I can see some moron in a convertible DRIVING with that thing on or using in an unexpected rainstorm.
I forgot I have a digital probe somewhere (for bbq'ing) I hardly ever use. Gotta find it and use that instead...I used it a few years back on my home a/c vents to test temps and it was dead on.
Wait? What? - I would think keeping the rear ones closed would boost front vent performance and give lower temps since the cooling system wasn't "driving" every vent in the truck. My recent test I just did was with rear vents closed....guess I'll open them and test that too.
Checked today with an analog dial thermometer - let truck run for a bit and had AC set on top vents only, recirc on and fan at 2 clicks beyond halfway setting. It was only 73 degrees out today (but at 80% humidity) and I was getting 46/47 degrees constant at the center top driver's vent. This...
Ok...then I stand corrected and don't know what the hell is going on. All I know is that in this recent heat wave my AC was very cold...as cold as my old Ram and that thing was an icebox with the AC. I will test vents with a thermometer and post temps but being a guy who can't live without AC...
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe most of those having AC issues have the fully computerized "climate control" system/settings via the onscreen display AND/OR have the cooling seats options.
Both me (build date late March 2019) and a buddy (build date Feb 2019) have Level 1...
