Did you do this by feel only or with a thermometer......it would be interesting to see the different thermometer readings and the spread between the 3 trucks (and, I assume you had all 3 set the same way - recirc, top vents only, fan speed, etc.??)
While you may be questioning it, you shouldn't be put off by buying or at least checking out a new Ram. It may turn out that the issue is not a deal breaker for you......mine hasn't been touched and normally gets to 47 - 50 degrees which is fine (when it's near 100 I'm getting around 54 which...
Have you given the dealer a chance to fix it, apply TSB or address it in any way or are you just complaining to complain?? More details needed.
And...if this is your only issue consider yourself lucky...there are some guys on here who got a lemon (which happens with EVERY brand) and who...
No offense, but who made you hall monitor (or, more precisely, thread monitor)???
No one's forcing you to visit this thread or opine on it......if it bothers you so much or you feel it's "out of hand" you can avoid it and spend your time on other threads.
Why?...I like that option...that's like only 500 or 600 a year ($40 - 50 a month) for a 50 - 60K truck!! Might be hard to get an extended warranty to cover it, though....oh...and to get one that isn't a pile of bolts and rust by the end of the term.
I'd be willing to bet that the seats are not made of any real leather at all but a material called leatherette (similar to what use to be negatively referred to as "pleather" - plastic leather):
Leatherette
Leatherette is a synthetic material made from vinyl or some type of plastic. You may also...
Typical of the "go with the cheapest quality as possible to make the most profit" mentality. But usually they try to use something that will last for at least the warranty period. I can't imagine how these seats are gonna look with kids & dogs climbing in and out over time...not a pretty sight...
Yep...if anyone takes their truck to a car wash where you get out and it gets run through unoccupied, they have to buckle the driver's seat belt to have truck roll thru in Neutral.
That's great IF you want to take the risk that the dealer will be ok with it....and you don't know for sure whether there may ever be an adverse impact with the mod. So...if your A/C fails, you have a heater core issue, etc. you don't think they will try to deny warranty coverage if they find a...
Could try but I doubt the dealer/FCA will offer any monetary compensation....they'll only authorize a body shop repaint, take it or leave it. I also don't think the dealer can offer accessories, etc. in trade for a warranty claim since there is no method or documentation to sign off on something...
Yeah...ummm...NO.
Sure, a body shop may be able to match the paint and even make it look good but regarding the paint process/integrity it's not going to be close to what the factory does or the steps taken in paint job from the factory. Now, arguably, if you're only going to keep the truck for...
Yeah.....leave it. Despite what some might tell you, you will NEVER get as good a paint job as factory unless maybe going to an experienced pro at a 5 star custom paint shop that'll be very expensive.....And you're not going to get that kind of expertise/service from a dealer body shop.
Plus...
Something to ponder for those doing the valve thing.....if something happens and you unfortunately break down on the highway and/or have to have it towed to the dealership, would you be able to reverse what you did in time?? In that situation you might have wished you did the clamp thing.
As...
If it doesn't work out let me know...I'll come and take your wheel liners out and then put them back in....And take you to a cannon range (hey...had to up the game).
If it were me, I'd do what a friend of mine did years ago......make a huge lemon shaped sign out of plywood, spray it yellow and position/secure in the bed w/ tailgate down - then write on it something like "DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM (insert dealer name) - THEY ARE TERRIBLE - WON'T HELP YOU WITH...
I agree 100%.....and those saying otherwise are being obtuse. It's like saying don't worry about your rear power window, CD player, heated mirrors, etc. if it doesn't work if you never use it. It's something that was an option/expense on a brand new truck (included in the cost of that new truck)...
