I know what the op is talking about if I am driving at 1/4 throttle and push the pedal to half throttle it down shifts and red lines I'm not looking for that much power just moderate acceleration also noticed from half throttle to Full Throttle there is no difference in feeling of acceleration...
i have a 2021 longhorn with the rear bed step & the borla cat back with 5" tips & everything fits fine the step does not touch the exhaust tips part no 140752 chrome tips
I have 1/2 of an inch clearance around my exhaust tips to the black plastic I just went on a 1400 mile trip over a two-day. And nothing melted sounds like yours are moving while deiving
Just about ripped my passenger side step off pulling in to the garage wife got out closed door step didn't go in and I went to pull in and she is yelling stop the step is out. It took 20-30 seconds to retract other times 1-2 seconds

their is a feature on the gas petal on the gmc to help it save mpg if you think you had it to the floor you were prob wrong their is a (notch) in the throttle travel at 75% & you really have to push it down harder to get 100% i thought my petal was broken but their was a page in the book that...
yes i agree gm's trans are a bit clunky but that 6.2 rips. way more tq. by the seat of your pants & i got 16.5 in town & 20.5 on the interstate over 50k miles that i owned it& i didnt drive it easy 4k on the shifts most of the time. i changed my battery 4 x on 2 of my gmc trucks & never lost...
alot of dealers dont do their own tag work they send it off to a 3rd party to process so their is the actual tag price, mailing fees, 3rd party proffit, & dealer mark up. here in my county a tag transfer is around $90 dealer charge between $400-$ 600
