Unfortunately that is a side effect of the 3.5" lift. If you like the look and size of tires there are some 3" lifts and 4" lifts that still retain most of the factory ride. But, they will cost considerably more.
The 3.5" lift uses a preload spacer and a top hat spacer to get it's lift. Both of...
Here is a thread I did up on the subject:
https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/headlight-customization-diy.15038/
They have been great so far. The strips can be turned off in the app. Did the installation and customization myself. If you have never done headlight retrofitting do not start...
I would go through Alfa one more time and see if there are any other settings to do with the power steps. I have not disabled/enabled a set on a truck equipped with air suspension. Maybe @Jimmy07 might have some ideas as he is our resident Alfa guru.
You can order the steps from any site that sells Mopar parts. Does not have to be the dealership unless they give you the best deal.
If you install them yourself the steps will operate with door open/close. You will need the dealer to program in the sales code that is in the installation...
I second what @MannyN mentioned. I even went the extra mile and installed the Diode Dynamics LED boards and they are only marginally brighter. However I did install them for the color change capability.
On a side note I do have a spare headlight and am going to try and customize the headlight...
I got those 3 menus to show on the Android version of AlfaOBD. I'll change them in the morning and see if it pops up in the EVIC. If it does I'll order the switch bank and give it a whirl. Thanks for your continued knowledge in adding mods to these trucks.
Right from Readylift's site:
"NOTE: Not for use on trucks that are factory pre-lifted/leveled or that have the "off-road package". Check factory height prior to ordering or installing. This kit is not recommended for trucks with more than 22" of wheel hub to fender lip height."
This includes...
I'm not the one misleading anyone. I've installed and run almost all the available suspensions systems on the particular truck he is referring to on customer's vehicles or my own truck. Not some catch all answer that this happens to every vehicle if you lift it. The reason why your shop told you...
That's simply not true. Any cradle lift kit will still ride like stock. Bilstein 6100s and higher will ride better than stock, Any of the coilovers lifts (Fabtech, Fox, Icon, King) will ride better than stock.
The only kits that will suffer from what you are talking about are the 3.5" kits...
You need more that just what was mentioned. You need a Security Gateway Module Bypass and a Bluetooth OBD2 reader. Then you can use a program like AlfaOBD to adjust voltages for the accent strips. However, it does very little. There is a AlfaOBD thread that covers almost everything you can adjust.
