Not sure how many of my posts you read but the train wasn't the issue for me, it was the final trip from the rail yard to the dealer. 2 days to go from SHAP to Jessup and then 14 days to go 40 miles from Jessup to Koons.
Per their email:
This involves a pre delivery inspection, a full detail and of course a full tank of gas. It will take a minimum of 48 business hours from the time your vehicle arrives from the manufacturer to being ready for pick up.
So hopefully Friday I can pick it up and then stare at it...
Just got the email that the truck has landed! Have to wait 48 hours before being able to pick it up. What a roller coaster after the pushed date yesterday.
I'll tell you what, this latest delay over the fact RAM can't move a finished truck 40 miles just ruined the whole "experience" for me. I feel like they could call me right now and say the truck is ready or the whole order has been canceled, try again and my response would be exactly the same...
Probably contracted carriers as I doubt RAM wants to run a vehicle logistics company just like they use rail carriers and not RAM TRAIN FREIGHT. How the trucks are sequenced to the carriers for dealer delivery is just as much of a mystery as the rest of their production decision making.
Last Dealer Connect report showed "2/17-3/5/23" aka "we have no ****ing idea" I wonder how many trucks have been dropped off at Jessup and were put on a truck to the dealer the next day? Bet they were all February orders
I may go look at an F-150 Tremor next weekend, the two things I don't like are the interior feels a little less premium for being the same price as the Rebel and the leaf spring rear as opposed to the coil springs on the RAM.
My truck "should" have been here any day in the last two weeks and yet here I sit. No truck in my driveway, just sitting at a lot 45 minutes away because RAM can't figure out the concept of FIFO (first in first out)
All I know is that it better be at the dealer by 3/5. There is zero excuse for it to be a second late with how long it has sat in MD.
I've been pretty patient the whole time because there are a lot of factors that affect production, assembly, rail movement, etc. but RAM has full control over...
You ordered recently, which means you should have yours quickly.
Those of us who ordered early get to stare at Dealer Connect updates daily showing that it is too much of a task to move a truck 45 minutes to the dealer.
I believe the system is the same or based around the same system that have been on the HD trucks for the last few years so you may have some luck on the HDRams forum.
