I can't find the thread but someone was able to do some digging into how the starter is being grounded and how its not sufficient enough and that could be the cause of them all dying so quickly.
The starter on my 2012 lasted 10 years and 150k miles.
There are a few other threads on this.. I have a 2020 Rebel non-eTorque also from the Boston Area and had the same issue last month. Ended up being the starter itself, of course I didn't realize this until after I swapped the battery.

Its probably a mouse, dead obviously, just pop the blower fan off and dump it out. Its held in by 3 screws and there is an electrical push connector. Pretty straightforward, I looked for some youtube links to share but only see them for gen4s and older but its the same concept.

I had JBAs on my gen4... they sound great but have pinhole leaks in the welds on them and caused issues with MDS. Wasn't a major issue since I was shutting it off but something to be aware of.
Skip to 7:15 for the leak test:
All the gen4 1500s had the bolt through the floor board like you mentioned. Would always rust and seize up. They made the change in 2019+ gen5, not sure if the classic body style is included

any updates on this, my 2020 Rebel is doing the same thing. Thought it was a battery issue so bought a new battery. Was fine for a week then started with the single click again, thinking its the starter going bad.
