Unfortunately this is pretty common in all technology, with how fast tech advances it only takes a few months for something to become obsolete. A new best camera on a phone or fastest computer processor comes out every few months. Its just how it is, the next best thing is always right around...
Ok so I did some googleing and most of it is gibberish to me. But it seems the general consensus says its OK as long as you're not using the factory wires to actually power the amp, just using it as a signal.
And then this is from the JL Audio manual in the high-level input section.
"The...
Didn't use a LOC, the sub/amp had a high level input option so I just used that. An added benefit is that it doubles as the switch/ignition, so I didn't need to run a remote wire.
I don't think much changed from 2019 to 2020
2020:
- ecodiesel became avaiable
- no longer has a cd player, its just another cubby now
- different paint/2-tone options
those are the only obvious changes I could find.
I just did a little write up on this.
I actually just added a 10" JL Audio TW1 .25 ohms sub behind the rear drive side seat - 400w powered sub
box dimensions: 17" x 13.5" x 6.75"
If you don't have reclining rear seats you may have to make it 5.5" instead of 6.75"
If you want 2 subs then you...
So I disconnected my battery for about an hour while I was running a power wire for a sub I was installing.
When I turn the truck on, I had no navigation, ac/heater was on the fritz, no cameras, side steps were on the fritz, no passenger heated/cooled seats
So at that point I was having a melt...
Pretty straight forward project, but I haven't seen anyone add an additional sub BEHIND the seats, always under them. So i figured I would post...
Goal: add more bass without sacrificing cargo space
sub: JL Audio ACP110LG-TW1 --- 400w sub 10" sub w/ amp --- bought used off of offerup...
Probably going to catch a bunch of crap for admitting this but I may as well help out....
I do max out my truck a few times a year. BUT you are going to NEED a weight distribution hitch AND air bags...
I have a 26' bumper pull toy hauler, guesstimating it weights around 9700# fully loaded...
I have bout 9k miles on my truck now and drive about 30k/year. I picked it for the MPGs, Not so much to save money but just the convenience of not having to stop for fuel every 2 or 3 days. With the 33 gallon tank I usually get about 750 miles before I need to fill up.
As an added bonus is does...
Ya I just go slow, its not crazy far, takes 4 hours going 55 mph, 50 if its windy, and i only pull this trailer 4 or 5 times a year, if I was pulling all year i would go up to a 2500 for the ease of towing
I was just really surprised the 1st time i hooked it up and back of the truck dropped so...
Highly recommend the limited slip differential/E-Locker
- Highly recommend the LSD/E-Locker
- Cant speak for E-Torque, I got the 3.0 ecodiesel for the mileage
- recommend 3.21 gears if you aren't going to be towing much
- Advanced safety group is pretty neat if you like technology, the...
